MLB Baseball Betting Odds - Padres vs. Giants

The Padres send Justin Germano to the mound in the final game of a three-game series on the road versus the San Francisco Giants. The sports betting community saw the Giants actually win one in the Tuesday night game 3 to 2. Sportsbook bettors shouldn’t expect the same thing to happen on Wednesday night as Justin Germano was absolutely fantastic in his first start of the year. He gave up only 3 hits and no runs in 6 innings of work. It was a no decision as Germano never got any run support from his teammates, but that’s okay. He put in an excellent six innings.

Jonathan Sanchez, who takes the mound for the Giants, wasn’t as lucky in his first start of the season. Sanchez got nailed for 7 runs on 7 hits. He did strike out 8 batters, but he only lasted 4 innings. Sanchez ended up with an ERA of 15.75.

Let’s take a look at the BetUS MLB Betting lines.

San Diego Padres

Justin Germano – R - 1 ½ + 115 - 150 O 8 ½

San Francisco Giants

Jonathan Sanchez – R + 1 ½ - 135 + 130 U 8 ½

There’s no telling if the BetUS over/under of 8 ½ runs is legitimate. The reason is that the Padres could easily rout Jonathan Sanchez tonight. There is no such thing as a bad pitcher in Major League Baseball, but there are some that just, well, aren’t all that good.

Sanchez is one of those. He can strike out a lot of batters, but he also has a tendency to give up hits and runs. Sanchez’s lifetime ERA is 5.91 in 61 games. I just don’t see the Padres having a whole lot of trouble with Sanchez tonight.

That means that giving up the 1 ½ runs on Germano for + 115 is a pretty good wager. Again, Germano was brilliant for 6 innings in his first start this year. Adding Germano to a rotation that already has Jake Peavy and Chris Young is one of the reasons the Padres are a favorite to win the N.L. pennant.

Germano should come out strong tomorrow, put in another 6 to 7 good innings of work, and then watch as his teammates bring it home. Let’s hope that he gets the run support this time.

The BetUS MLB Betting line is Justin Germano for the San Diego Padres – 1 ½ runs + 115 versus the San Francisco Giants.

I don’t mind giving up the 1 ½ runs as Germano is a much better pitcher then San Francisco’s starter, Jonathan Sanchez. I’ll take Germano in this game.
