MLB Baseball Betting Odds - Mets vs. Cubs

The Cubs are finally starting to make some noise in the N.L. Central Division. BetUS Sportsbook has their current record at 12 and 6 and they are coming off a three-game sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Everybody in the online baseball betting community knew the Cubs would score runs this season, they’ve scored over 10 runs in four of their 18 games and have scored nine runs in three others, but it’s the pitching, in particular the man they send to the mound tonight, that has been impressive of late. Carolos Zambrano has done almost everything right so far this season. He has an ERA of 3.04 with a record of 2 and 1 with 23 strike-outs. How impressive is Zambrano? As a batter Zambrano is hitting .250 on the season. That’s pretty good for a pitcher.

The Mets counter with John Maine. Maine hasn’t been terrible. He has a record of 1 and 1 on the season with an ERA of 3.78. The bad thing is that he’s allowed 18 hits with only 10 strike-outs in three games. In the Cubs, Maine is facing a very capable scoring team.

Chicago Cubs

Carlos Zambrano – R - 1 ½ + 155 - 140 U 8

I absolutely love the Cubs at home in this game. The Mets are coming off of a very difficult Sunday night game in Philadelphia. The Cubs are coming of off a relaxing game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Zambrano has been as advertised and more for the Cubs this season. That makes this game a fairly easy one to call.

I’m not going to hesitate and take Zambrano at – 1 ½ at + 155 on the BetUS run-line. I just feel that Zambrano will bring his stuff to the game tonight and John Maine won’t be able to keep that Cubs’ line-up from scoring at least five or six runs.

Because of that I also like the BetUS over at 8 runs. Zambrano will give up his usual two or three tonight, but it will be John Maine who gets dinged for a few scores.
