MLB Baseball Betting Odds - Atlanta vs. Colorado

The Colorado Rockies are looking to sweep the Atlanta Braves on Thursday. The Rockies’ bats finally got going in their last game as they laid 12 runs onto the shell-shocked Braves. Colorado wants to keep pace with the rest of the tams in the N.L. West. They started the season out 1 and 5 but they have won their last 3 games. What’s great about their last three wins is that the Colorado pitchers have done a better job this week then last week. That could all change as the Rockies send Jeff Francis to the mound. Francis was dinged for 12 hits and 5 runs in only 6.1 innings of work last week. Francis’s career average is 4.70.

The Braves send out former super-pitcher Tim Hudson. Hudson has already pitched 13 innings so far this season. He’s given up 9 hits and 5 runs and has struck out 7 in those 13 innings. Hudson’s ERA is 3.46 on the year.

These two teams appear evenly matched. I’m not sure which pitcher is going to come out strong. Okay, check that. I am sure that Jeff Francis won’t come out strong. I have my doubt about every single pitcher that throws the ball for the Rockies, but with Francis my doubts are rock-solid.

He’s just an okay pitcher. That makes him horrible in this game against a Braves team that will eventually end the losing streak. Hudson is iffy, if not downright scary, to wager on when giving up 1 ½ runs, but that’s the only real bet in this thing.

Either that or the BetUS over. Yes, 9 runs sure feels like a lot for an N.L. game but the Braves bull-pen isn’t as solid as years’ past and the Rockies can’t shut anybody out.

If Francis gives up a good 5 or 6 runs early in this game, which is likely, then I see this thing going way over. Atlanta could turn the tables and lay 12 onto the Rockies in this one.
