The Arizona Diamondbacks (46-46) will seek to climb over the .500 mark on Friday night when they take on the Philadelphia Phillies (50-43) in National League baseball betting action that is set to begin at 7:05 PM ET at Citizens Bank Park in the City of Brotherly Love.

Arizona took a 7-5 win over the Washington Nationals last night to make it two out of three, and get back to the .500 mark, which puts them a game ahead of the Dodgers, who lost in extra innings to the Florida Marlins on Thursday night. Even though they are the divisionleaders in the NL West, the D-Backs get less hits than anybody in the National League, averaging just 8.1 per game. Arizona is also last in the league with 3.6 runs per contests scored on the road.

Doug Davis takes the mound for the D-Backs on Friday night. Davis, who overcame cancer surgery earlier in the season, last pitched against the Phillies n May 28 of last season, going eight innings and giving up just a single run. That came three weeks after he went six innings and yielded just two runs against the Phils. In each of his last three starts, he has given up three runs. But prior to that, he surrendered onw run in 13 innings. Davis' last five starts have gone under the total.

Kyle Hendrick pitched against the Diamondbacks on May 7, giving up ten hits and three runs in six innings, in a game his team won 5-4. Last time out he was strong, surrendering just a single run in six innings against the Mets on Sunday. The Phillies are 13-5 in the games he has started.

Philadelphia has also demonstrated itself to be a lot better against left-handed starters than against righties. The Phils have a 20-12 record against southpaws but a 30-31 mark against righties. But the D-Backs have won five of the last seven meetings And we like the price.
