MLB Baseball Betting - Minnesota Twins vs. Chicago White Sox
By Mike Rose
Since dropping the first two games of the season to the Cleveland Indians, sports bettors have watched the White Sox rattle off five straight victories to put them atop the AL Central Division with a 5-2 record. As for Minnesota, Monday afternoon’s loss to Chicago was the clubs second in a row, and they come into tonight’s game with a 3-5 SU mark.
Game one of this series looked to be going the way of the Twins up until the 7th inning when the White sox plated five run due to the heroics of 3B Joe Crede. He cleared the bases with a blast that reached the left field bleachers, and turned Chicago’s one-run deficit into a four-run lead. Crede’s name was bantered about in a number of trade rumors this past off-season, but the former All Star looks to be back to playing the type of ball that helped the White Sox win it all back in 2005.
"I didn't think it had enough," said Crede, whose fifth career grand slam also was his second home run this season. "It was definitely high enough, especially coming off my bat, but with these winds, playing here in the past, anything that's in the air has definitely got a shot."
The comeback victory allowed the Sox to win five in a row for the first time since August of 2006.
Toeing the rubber for Ron Gardenhire’s Twins in Game 2 will be Scott Baker who threw a gem in his first start of the year against Kansas City. He went 6 1/3rd innings allowing 7 hits and 3 earned runs while striking out two. However, he’s been roughed up by the White Sox in his career going 1-2 with a 9.14 ERA in five career starts.
Also coming off a fabulous start is the White Sox John Danks who was almost unhittable in his first start of the season against the Cleveland Indians. Danks turned it over to the bullpen after 6 2/3rd innings of two-hit ball, and it came through allowing the lefty to pick up his first win of the season. In his career against Minnesota, Danks is 1-2 with a 5.63 ERA.
The White Sox have been tagged –135 home favorites in this spot with the ‘total’ set at 9 over (-120). You can be a part of this AL Central Division rivalry at BetUS.Com as both the ‘side’ and ‘total’ are waiting to be bought right now.
These clubs split their 18 games a season ago, and the over went 10-6-2. The Twins are 2-7 SU in their L/9 overall meetings and 1-5 SU their L/6 trips to the “Windy City”. The over has been money recently cashing in 10 of their L/14 overall meetings, and in 5 of their L/8 meetings in Chicago.
