MLB Baseball Betting Odds - Cleveland vs. New York Yankees

The Cleveland Indians battle the New York Yankees in an online betting game tonight where two of the best pitchers in the major leagues will take the mound. The Indians send out Fausto Carmona who just earlier this season signed a big six-year extension with Cleveland. That’s a good sign to the baseball betting world as Carmona has the ability to anchor the Indians’ rotation no matter what happens to C.C. Sabathia. Carmona is 3 and 1 on the season with a 2.60 ERA.

The Yankees send out Andy Pettite. Pettite has been his usual consistent self, racking up a 3 and 3 record with a 3.86 ERA. Not horrible numbers to online sportsbook bettors, but not the best numbers in the world either. For BetUS sportsbook bettors to win an online wager tonight in this game, we’re going to have to really dig deep into this one.

Here are the BetUS online sportsbook betting odds for this game:

Cleveland Indians

Fausto Carmona – R + 1 ½ - 175 + 110 O 9 Ev

New York Yankees

Andy Petite – R - 1 ½ + 155 - 130 U 9 - 120

Here are a few significant trends to sportsbook wagering enthusiasts in tonight’s game:

The Cleveland Indians are 4 and 1 in Fausto Carmona’s last 5 starts as an underdog.

The Cleveland Indians are 2 and 5 in Fausto Carmona’s last 5 starts as an underdog on the road.

The New York Yankees are 1 and 6 in their last 7 games as the favorite.

The New York Yankees are 14 and 3 in Andy Petite’s last 17 starts after allowing no more than 2 runs in the previous game.

I’m really trying to make a case for the Indians and Carmona, but the MLB betting part of my brain just won’t let me do it. Carmona is the goods, that’s for sure, but the Indians just can’t put up enough runs to win this game.

The batting average, overall, for Cleveland this season is a paltry .242. Only one other team in the A.L. has a worse batting average - - the Chicago White Sox. If you can’t put up runs against the Yankees, you’re pretty much dead. It doesn’t matter who’s on the mound for you.

I have no choice but to ride Andy Pettite’s arm tonight at – 1 ½ runs and at + 155. The Yankees will give Pettite run support and since the Indians probably can’t muster the needed 5 or 6 runs in order to win this game, Pettite is the online betting play.

Word of caution - - I’m willing to stay away from making an online wager on the over/under in this game. The Yankees have the ability to put up 10 runs in a heart-beat and I do believe that their skipper, Joe Girardi, will be shooting for that. The Indians, on the other hand, will be hard-pressed to score more then two runs in this affair. That makes the BetUS over/under a difficult online wager to dissect.
