MLB Baseball Betting - Detroit Tigers vs. Chicago White Sox

We saw this last weekend as Justin Verlander for the Detroit Tigers got absolutely destroyed when facing the Chicago White Sox. In that game the White Sox pounded Verlander for 7 hits and 9 runs in only 5.2 innings of work. What chance does Verlander have this week? He could bounce back. That’s what Chicago White Sox pitcher Mark Buehrle did by shutting down the vaunted Tigers’ line-up last weekend.

Buehrle was sensational against the Tigers. He gave up 7 hits and 2 runs in 7 innings of work. It was Buehrle’s second start of the season. In his first start he was terrible. He gave up 7 runs in 1 2/3 innings. Hey, maybe there is hope for Verlander, right?

In any case, I’m going to put together a few wagers based on the fact that Verlander comes out strong. Buehrle has no excuses. Verlander does. Because Detroit is on the road for this game, and because they were smacked around the last time these two pitchers met, I’m going to set my personal odds line as follow:

Detroit Tigers

Justin Verlander – R + 1 ½ - 140 + 155 O 9 ½

Chicago White Sox

Mark Buehrle – L - 1 ½ + 115 - 165 U 9 ½

Again, these are my personal betting lines. In other words the odds above are what I would expect to receive if I liked either the Detroit Tigers/Justin Verlander or the Chicago White Sox/Mark Buehrle. It is important to note that these are NOT BetUS odds. Those odds won’t come out until early Saturday morning.

These are guidelines. I see two potential bets under this scenario. The first is the Detroit Tigers to win straight-up. There is no doubt that Detroit will be the underdog in this game. If the BetUS MLB odds are at + 155 or higher, then I’ll have money on Detroit to win. Why? Well, Detroit has to start winning games eventually, right?

The second potential wager I see is on the BetUS over. If the BetUS over/under is at 9 ½ or less, then I’ll have money on the over in this game.

I think both Buehrle and Verlander could get dinged for a lot of runs in this game.

Hopefully things will work out like I have predicted and two solid wagers will come out of this game.
