MLB Baseball Betting - Colorado vs. Arizona

The Rockies Thursday game snowed out. Therefore, scheduled Thursday night starter Jeff Francis gets to start on Friday night. That’s not a good thing. Francis isn’t a bad pitcher, but he shouldn’t be at the top of the Rockies’ rotation. Of course, they really don’t have anybody else. Francis has a lifetime ERA of 4.70. His ERA so far this season is a whopping 7.11. Sportsbook online bettors should be warned, The Rockies aren’t going to defend their National League Pennant if they’re counting on Francis to shut down teams.

To make matters worse, Colorado has to face one of the best pitchers in the National League in Brandon Webb. Webb is absolutely great. In two games this season, both wins, Webb has a 2.08 ERA. He’s also struck out 11 batters.

The Diamondbacks, in my mind, have already solidified their position as the top team in the N.L. West. They have an excellent record of 7 and 2, have better hitters then expected, and bring one of the top pitching staffs in the National League to the ball-park every afternoon. They are a solid team.

The Rockies aren’t terrible. They just have no pitchers that can shut-down opposing teams’ batters. Colorado has a record of 5 and 4 on the season. They’ve already been swept once by this Arizona Diamondbacks’ team.

There’s no reason to look any further. Getting plus odds on a pitcher the caliber of Brandon Webb is excellent. Yes, even if I have to give up the 1 ½ runs, I still like Mr. Webb in this situation. He’ll be in front of the Arizona fans. He’s fearless and he can go toe-to-toe with any batter in the National League.

I’ll be riding Brandon Webb to a BetUS over even money victory.
