MLB Baseball Betting – Colorado Rockies at San Francisco Giants

The Philadelphia Phillies, (15-12, 14-13 O/U) spanked the San Diego Padres, (10-17, 12-14-1 O/U) 7-4 on Tuesday to deny Hall of Fame-bound hurler Greg Maddux his 350th career victory as I correctly predicted in the BetUS Locker Room yesterday and are coming back tonight looking for more of the same against a Padres team that has dropped eight of their last ten games in the BetUS Sportsbook.

The Phillies and their feared lineup of hitters are starting to warm up right along with the weather, putting up 5.67 runs per game while going 7-2 in their last nine despite playing without 2007 NL MVP shortstop Jimmy Rollins though outfielder Shane Victorino did come off the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday.

"We got Shane back and, hopefully, Jimmy will be back soon," outfielder Jayson Werth told the Phillies' official Web site. "Like last year, we have a team which has been through it. We're a confident team and we're going to keep pushing through like we did last season."

The Phillies will send 45-year-old veteran left-hander Jamie Moyer, (1-1, 4.05) to the mound looking for a repeat of his last outing when he limited the Milwaukee Brewers to just one run on eight hits in six innings.

The Padres will counter with towering 6-foot-10 right-hander Chris Young, (1-2, 3.77 ERA), hoping to get a similar performance to the one he delivered in his last outing when he limited the San Francisco Giants to one run on just two hits while striking out 10 in seven innings of the Padres’ 1-0 loss.

Here is a look at tonight’s key trends followed by my MLB Betting Picks.

The Padres are 9-2 in Young’s last eleven starts during game one of a series.

The Padres are 4-1 in Young’s last five starts vs. National League East.

The Phillies are 4-0 in Moyer’s last four home starts vs. a team with a losing record.

The Phillies are 13-4 in Moyer’s last 17 starts as a home favorite.

The Under is 4-1-1 in Young’s last six starts with the total set at 9.0-10.5.

The Over is 4-1 in Young’s last five starts during game one of a series.

The Over is 4-1 in Moyer’s last five starts as a home favorite.

The Under is 4-1 in Moyer’s last five Wednesday starts.

The Over is 5-1 in the last six meetings.

The Padres are 4-1 in the last five meetings in Philadelphia.

Analysis: Despite the Phillies’ hot bats and winning ways – and the Padres’ lack of wins lately, I say the Pares pick up a much-needed victory in this contest tonight with Young throwing pea-sized pebbles.
