MLB Baseball Betting - Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Chicago Cubs

MLB bettors can get their online betting action down bright and early Friday afternoon when the NL West Division leading Arizona Diamondbacks (23-12) invade Wrigley Field to take on the (19-15) Chicago Cubs. D’Back bettors have made some nice coin backing the snakes on the road this season evidenced by their impressive 9-5 mark as a visitor. They’ll put the best road record in the National League ob the line against the Cubs who’ve been masterful in the “comfy confines” winning 11 of their 17 overall home games. Neither club enters this sports betting affair playing dominant ball. Arizona’s split their last 10 games, and they’re coming off a 10-game homestand that saw them win its series against Houston, lose to the NY Mets, and split a four-game set with Philadelphia. The Cubs last six games have come on the road, and they proved to be a terrible sports wager by going 2-4 overall.
Arizona’s prized off-season acquisition, Dan Haren, will get the starting nod for Manager Bob Melvin’s club. Haren enters this afternoon’s ballgame 4-1 with a 3.12 ERA and 0.99 WHIP. He’s allowed 35 hits and 18 runs (15 earned) with a K/BB ratio of 36/8 in a tad over 43 total innings of work. His last time out saw him earn a no decision against the NY Mets where he went six innings allowing three hits and two earned runs while striking out seven batters and walking one. Haren hasn’t faced the Cubs since he pitched for the Cardinals back in 2004, but still owns an 0-1 mark with a lofty 12.46 ERA and a 2.31 WHIP in two career starts against Chicago.
Ted Lilly will get the ball for the eighth time this season looking to improve his 2-4 record and bloated 5.97 ERA. His first four starts of the season were nightmarish allowing 25 hits and 19 earned runs in just 18 2/3rd innings of work rewarding him with an 0-3 record. However, he’s been a different pitcher going 2-1 and limiting opponents to 15 hits and five earned runs in 19 innings of work his L/3 starts. Arizona’s dominated him the couple times they’ve seen him as Lilly stands 0-3 with a 5.63 ERA against the snakes, and he lost both starts against them last year including Game 2 of the NLDS.
