MLB Baseball Betting Action – American League Free Picks

The Major League Baseball online betting season is heating up in a big way in the BetUS Sportsbook, with this Saturday American League MLB Free Picks Feature.

Four separate American League sports betting matchups featuring the Detroit Tigers hosting the New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays traveling to Cleveland to take on the Indians, are each offering excellent MLB Odds in the BetUS Sportsbook.

Here is a look at all matchups, featuring four of the top teams in the BetUS Locker Room.

New York Yankees at Detroit Tigers

The Pitchers: Yankees starting pitcher Darrell Rasner is 1-0 in just one start covering 6.0 innings with four strikeouts, zero walks and an ERA of 3.00.

Tigers starting pitcher Jeremy Bonderman is 2-3 in seven starts covering 41.0 innings with 22 strikeouts, 25 walks and a 4.17 ERA.

Analysis: While the Tigers’ Bonderman has been inconsistent at best this season, I like Detroit and Bonderman to beat the Yankees and their young hurler in this matchup despite the fact that they had lost six of seven games heading into Friday night’s series opener.

MLB Free Picks: Tigers 5 Yankees 4

Toronto Blue Jays at Cleveland Indians

The Pitchers: Blue Jays starting pitcher Dustin McGowan is 2-2 in seven starts covering 42.2 innings with 34 strikeouts, 17 walks and a 2.95 ERA.

Indians starting pitcher Aaron Laffey is 0-2 in two starts covering 12.2 innings with six strikeouts, three walks and an ERA of 2.84.

Analysis: Heading into Friday’s series opener, the Blue Jays had won six of their last eight games, but I am going with the Cleveland Indians to win this matchup and get starter Aaron Laffey his first victory of the season. However, the Indians will need to give Laffey more than the two runs of support over two starts that they’ve given him so far.

MLB Free Picks: Indians 4 Blue Jays 3

Los Angeles Angels at Tampa Bay Rays

The Pitchers: Angels starting pitcher Joe Saunders is 6-0 in seven starts covering 48.1 innings with 21 strikeouts, ten walks and a 2.61 ERA.

Rays starting pitcher Scott Kazmir is 0-1 in one start covering 4.0 innings with five strikeouts, three walks and a ERA of 6.75.

Analysis: While Tampa Bay starter Scott Kazmir is supremely talented, probably more so than Los Angeles starter Joe Saunders, I’m going with the Angels and Saunders to win this contest and keep his unbeaten record intact for another week. While this game has all the making of a one-run outcome, I like the Angels to come out on top by getting to Kazmir at some point.

MLB Free Picks: Angels 5 Rays 3

Boston Red Sox at Minnesota Twins

The Pitchers: Red Sox starting pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka is 5-0 in seven starts covering 40.2 innings with 33 strikeouts, 27 walks and a 2.43 ERA.

Twins starting pitcher Glen Perkins will make his first major league start of 2008 after going 0-0 in 19 appearances last season with 20 strikeouts, 12 walks and an ERA of 3.14.

Analysis: Heading into Friday’s series opener between these teams, the Boston Red Sox had won eight of their last ten games, including a five-game winning streak while the Minnesota Twins had won seven of their last ten with their own five-game winning streak as well. However, with Dice-K going for the Sox, and Glen Perkins (who?) taking the hill for the Twins, I think this pick is a no-brainer despite the fact that Matsuzaka has struggled with his location all season long.

MLB Free Picks: Red Sox 7 Twins 4
