Golf Betting – PGA Tour AT&T National Wagering Six Pack

by Dave D

It’s time to do some sports betting and dial up the AT&T National at the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland. $6 Million is the total purse that is up for grabs. We’re not getting a cut of that but let’s see if we can make some golf gambling cash on our own with our weekly six-pack:

Hunter Mahan 18-1

Hunter Mahan is one of the favorites of the week but he’s worth a lot since the odds are 18-1. Mahan skipped the Buick Open last week but finished second at the Travelers Championship and 18th at the U.S. Open prior to that. Mahan finished in a tied for eight at this tournament last year so he has some pedigree here.

Stuart Appleby 25-1

Stuart Appleby was on fire to start the season but has cooled off since. He had top 10 finishes in each of his first five tournaments coming as close as fourth at the FBR Open. But since then, Appleby has been chilling. He has no top 10 since.

But he did finish third at this tournament last year, which is an encouraging sign. He was leading after the first three rounds before collapsing late.

Brandt Snedeker 35-1

The odds have come down a bit this week on Snedeker. He started at 40-1 and is now at 35-1, so I’m probably not the only guy who is will to invest in his services. Snedeker has been up and down this season and seems to be stinging from his close call at The Masters. But maybe this is the week where the ship is righted. Snedeker finished in a tie for eighth last year at this tournament.

Steve Stricker 35-1

Steve Stricker is an all or nothing type pick, but we’ll bank on him bringing his game this week. Stricker has been cut in four of his last five tournaments and has lost his way after such a great start to the season. Stricker finished second at the Mercedez-Benz Championship and tied for fourth at the Sony Open to start the year, but his fallen off the map since. With Stricker, when he makes the cut, he’s usually among the leaders. He’s made the cut eight times and has placed in the top 25 seven times and in the top 15 five times.

John Rollins 60-1

At 60-1, John Rollins is offering some good value. He’s off his best finish of the season, where he finished in a tie for ninth at the Buick Open. Last weekend, he had a round of 64 (2nd) and 65 (final). He posted a 64 for the second week in a row, which is his best score in a round this year. The hope is that Rollins continues his strong play at Congressional this week.

Brian Gay 70-1

Brian Gay’s pride is showing as he’s picked it up of late. He’s only had four top- 10’s this year but two of them have come in his last four tournaments. Last week, he finished in a tied for seventh at the Buick Open and he gets on streaks where he can carry his confidence over.
