Last weekend, Tiger Woods claimed his one and only major championship of the year by winning the season’s last major - the PGA Championship at Tulsa, Oklahoma’s Southern Hills CC. His win solidified his position atop the FedEx Cup standings. However, neither Woods nor the 2nd through 4th-ranked golfers (Vijay Singh, Jim Furyk and Phil Mickelson, respectively) will be in North Carolina this weekend for golf betting purposes.
However, K.J.Choi is listed in the field and, currently 5th in the FedEx standings, he is the highest-ranked player in this weekend’s Wyndham Championship field. Thus, Choi has been assigned the best PGA betting odds to win this weekend’s PGA Championship. BetUS Sportsbook assigned him a Wyndham Championship betting line of +1000.
Brandt Snedeker finished 3rd in the Buick Open early in the season and has four top-ten finishes in the last seven tournaments, including 7th at the Canadian Open and 8th at the AT&T National. At +4, he finished in a tie for 18th last weekend in the PGA Championship. His +2000 odds are the second-best this weekend.
Lucas Glover is ranked 45th in the FedEx Cup standings. Four of his last five finishes have been in the top-12. He finished 50th last weekend at the PGA Championship. Yet, he and last year’s winner, Davis Love, III, have been assigned the 3rd-best PGA betting odds of +2200.
Pat Perez is a +2500 favorite while Jonathan Byrd is rated at +3000. Behind Byrd, four golfers are tied at +3300 (Steve Flesch, Carl Pettersson, Joe Durant and Fredrik Jacobson).
Perez finished third at Woods’ AT&T National but missed his next cut. However, since then, the 39th-ranked golfer on the FedEx standings has three-straight top-20 finishes (British Open [20th], Canadian Open [10th] and PGA Championship [18th]).
