NFL Wagering Trends - NFC Championship Conference

38 year old gunslinger Brett Favre joined Joe Montana as the lone players to pass for more than 5,000 yards in the postseason, as the Green Bay Packers delivered the Seattle Seahawks a 42-20 spanking in Saturday's division championship game.

The Packers are 7-2 ATS (against the spread) in their last nine games after scoring more than 30 points in their previous game, and 5-1 ATS in their last six games following a SU win of more than 14 points. They are 19-7-2 ATS in their last 28 games overall.

The Packers reached the NFC title game for the first time since the 1997 season, thanks to a personal best playoff three touchdown passes thrown by Favre. He also extended his own record by throwing a touchdown pass in his 17th straight postseason game.

Favre improved to 43-5 SU (straight up) at Green Bay when game time temperatures are 34 degrees or colder. It was 31 at kickoff on Saturday. When the Packers host the New York Giants in Sunday's NFC championship conference, the Lambeau crazed fans will be hoping for temps cold enough to freeze hell. And, they'll get what they wish for as Green Bay's extended forecast is calling for a high of 12°F on game day.

Sunday's game is the perfect definition of home-field advantage as was proven against the Seahawks on Saturday. To make matters worse for Giants investors, the Packers have covered the spread in its last five homies. But the road team is 4-0 ATS in the last four games in this series.

We all know Favre can handle blustery conditions, but how will Eli Manning and the Giants handle the frigid conditions? Late in the season, Manning really struggled in nasty weather. However, Giants are 5-1 ATS in their last six games in January and have covered the spread in their last six games away from home.

New York doesn't have a turnover in two playoff games and if they're going to pull off another upset they'll need to again take care of the rock. Even if the Giants play a perfect game, keep in mind they are 1-4 ATS in their last five meetings.

NFL odds list Green Bay the early 7-point favorites with a game total of 42. Don't miss this stellar game kicking off Sunday at 6:30pm EST. There will be live wagering offered throughout the game.

Mike McCarthy has his team playing extremely well and believing his club should be in the Super Bowl, and who doesn't love the feel-good story of Favre getting back to the big show and trying to go out on top like John Elway.
