NFL Betting - XBOX 360 Game Simulation Seahawks at Packers

by Mike Rose

NFC Divisional Playoff, Seattle Seahawks vs. Green Bay Packers 4:30 ET at Lambeau Field. Weather: Mostly cloudy, Highs in the middle 20’s.

1st QUARTER

The Packers won the toss and elected to receive.

GBY 1st Drive: Ryan Grant picks up four yards on 1st down, but QB Favre throws a pair of INC’s and the Packers are forced to punt. Jon Ryan shanks the punt, and the Seahawks are set up with fantastic field position right out of the gates (SEA 47).

SEA 1st Drive: QB Hasselbeck connects with Bobby Engram for 13 on the Seahawks first play from scrimmage, and follows it up with a 27-yard pass to WR Hackett for another 1st down. With Green Bay back on its heels, HC Holmgren calls RB Shaun Alexander’s number and he delivers with a 14-yard TD scamper allowing the Seahawks to notch the games first points. SEA 7 GBY 0

GBY 2nd Drive: Packers WR/KR Koren Robinson sets up Favre and company with fantastic field position after returning Seattle K Josh Browns kickoff to midfield. It only takes two plays for the Packers to tie the game up as Favre found WR Donald Driver on a 25-yard out and capped the drive off with a 25-yard go rout to Greg Jennings who wrestled the ball away from Seattle SS Deon Grant for the TD. SEA 7 GBY 7

SEA 2nd Drive: Green Bay adjusts its defense after QB Hasselbeck cut them apart on their first drive, but this in turn opens up the floodgates for RB Shawn Alexander who rips off an 11-yard gain right off the bat. Seattle dinks and dunks its way into the red zone, and then QB Hasselbeck flings a 14-yard TD pass to TE Marcus Pollard to take back the lead. SEA 14 GBY 7

END OF 1ST QUARTER

2nd QUARTER

GBY 3rd Drive: QB Favre and the Packers set out to once again tie the game up from their own 20. RB Ryan Grant rattles off a couple off big gainers allowing the Packers to set up at their own 47, and then QB Favre unleashes an epic bomb that was hauled down once again by WR Greg Jennings for his second TD reception of the game. So far, Jennings has hauled in 2 passes for 77 yards with a pair of TD receptions….not bad for the second year receiver. SEA 14 GBY 14

SEA 3rd Drive: The Seahawks start their 3rd drive of the game from their own 20. RB Shawn Alexander gets the drive off and running on the first play when he rips off a 15-yard run behind the left side of the O-Line. WR Nate Burleson hauls in a 30-yard pass and the Seahawks once again find themselves on the Green Bay side of the field. RB Alexander rips off ho9s 2nd TD run of the game, this time of the 27-yard variety, and the Seahawks bolt back out in front. SEA 21 GBY 14

GBY 4th Drive: The Packers 4th drive of the game goes from bad to worse as QB Favre throws a pair of incompletions, and is then picked off by WLB Julian Peterson at the Green Bay 28 yard line opening the door for the Seahawks to get up two scores.

SEA 4th Drive: RB Alexander picks up a total of 8 yards on 1st and 2nd down, but then QB Hasselbeck is sacked by GBY DE Aaron Kampman forcing Seattle to settle for three. K Josh Brown’s 42-yard FG is good, and the Seahawks hold a comfy 10-point lead at the half.

HALFTIME SCORE: SEATTLE 24 GREEN BAY 14

QB Matt Hasselbeck: 11/13 135 yards 1 TD QB Rating 135.5

QB Brett Favre: 8/17 168 yards 2 TD 1 INT QB Rating 97.1

RB Shaun Alexander: 14 carries for 83 yards 2 TD 5.9 YPC

RB Ryan Grant: 4 carries for 23 yards 5.8 YPC

3rd QUARTER

SEA 5th Drive: The Seahawks come out of the gates smoking as QB Matt Hasselbeck finds WR DJ Hackett on 13 and 16 yard passes, and then RB Alexander puts the offense on his back and takes it into Green Bay territory. On 3rd and 7 from the Packers 19 yard line, QB Hasselbeck finds a streaking TE Pollard to set up 1st and goal from the 6. That’s where FB Leonard Weaver took over and strolled into the endzone for his second TD of the Playoffs. A dominating drive from the get go also too 6+ minutes off the clock. SEA 31 GBY 14

GBY 5th Drive: The Packers had theirbacks to the wall heading into their 5th drive of the day, and needed a score to get within reach. RB Ryan Grant rattled off his largest run of the day on 1st down (12 yds) and then QB Favre found WR Jennings once again for a huge 26-yard gain. Then it was all about TE Donald Lee’s who hauled in a 15 yard pass and followed it up with a 13-yard

TD reception to give the Packers a nice answer to Seattle’s opening drive of the 2nd half. SEA 31 GBY 21

SEA 6th Drive: The 3rd quarter ends as QB Matt Hasselbeck finds WR DJ Hackett on a 15-yard out route.

4TH QUARTER

SEA 6th Drive: The 4th quarter begins in a flash as QB Hasselbeck finds a wide-open WR Deion Branch on a blown coverage for 28 yards. RB Alexander rips off another 15-yard gain for another 1st down, and the Packers defense looks completely gassed at this point. However, it buckles down late in the drive and forces the Seahawks to a 32-yard FG attempt by K Brown of which he nails to increase the SEA lead to 13.

SEA 34 GBY 21

GBY 6th Drive: The outlook looks bleak for the Packers being down 13, but they don’t quit and immediately start moving the ball down the field. WR Greg Jennings hauls in another pass for 15 yards and a 1st down, and grabs another for 9 yards on 3rd and 10. With less than 3 minutes to go in the game, the Packers are forced to go for it on 4th and 1. The Seahawks inexplicably brought everything and the kitchen sink and the Packers made the perfect play call to beat it. However, QB Brett Favre’s screen pass to RB Grant got deflected and fell incomplete ultimately allowing the Seahawks to take over on downs and run out the clock.
