NFL Betting Week 15 - Ravens (- 3.5) vs. Dolphins (+ 3.5)
By D.S. Williamson
Without a doubt this is my play of the weekend. Why? Because I cannot believe that either one of these teams are as a bad as their records indicate. I understand that the Dolphins lost last week to the Buffalo Bills by the score of 38 to 14 and that they lost the week before to the New York Jets 40 to 13.
I also understand that the Baltimore Ravens have lost 7 games in a row, but I just have to believe that one of these teams is going to have a good game this week.
Before I get into why I believe this is an opportunity for NFL bettors, I want to throw some pretty alarming trends out there:
The Baltimore Ravens are 2 and 12 against the spread in their last 14 games.
The Miami Dolphins are 9-26-1 against the spread in their last 39 home games.
Wow. This is like deciding which girl to dance with at the local hoe-down Ugly or her twin Butt-Ugly.
Man, this is bad. But, where there is bad there may also be an opportunity! And, I’m jumping all over it!
The Baltimore Ravens have one of the best running backs in the NFL in Willis McGahee, but they also have decided to quit on the season. That was apparent last Sunday night when the Indianapolis Colts stormed all over them.
The Miami Dolphins? They quit on this season about 8 games ago, but there’s something about this week that makes me think that the Dolphins have a shot to win this one straight-up. First, they’ve lost some very close games this year: 0 to 3 versus Pittsburgh, 7 to 17 versus Philadelphia, 10 to 13 versus Buffalo, and 10 to 13 versus the Giants.
Now, these Dolphins get to face Kyle Boller and a Ravens team that has been decimated by injuries and attitude. The truth about the Baltimore Ravens is that they are old and not only play like old men but also think like old men.
All the Dolphins have top do to win this game is to put 8 men in the box to take away McGahee and then play the Ravens’ wide-receivers man to man. If they do that then good times won’t return, but at least they won’t become the first team to go 0 and 16 in the history of the NFL.
This is the Dolphins’ only chance to win this year. They have to do something, right? Why not against a bunch of old men parading around like NFL football players.
The BetUS Football line is Miami Dolphins + 3.5 against the spread at home.
Don’t even think about that wager. It’s the Fish to the house in this one, friends!
Miami wins this game straight-up.
