Rams In More Trouble With Bulger Out
Gus Frerotte steps up behind the center this Sunday for the Rams game against the visiting Arizona Cardinals with starter Marc Bulger out with broken ribs. This marks the first time that Frerotte gets to start a game under his former O-coordinator, as Rams head coach Scott Linehan held that title for the Miami Dolphins when Frerotte quarterbacked there. BetUS bettors, this is not an upgrade at the position. We'll monitor the progress of the line, but as it stands right now at +3.5 for St. Louis, there might be some pretty good value at Arizona right about now.
Will There Be Movement For Tampa @ Indianapolis?
Speculation abounds that the Colts may have four starters out… count 'em, four… out when the Buccaneers come to town on Sunday to clash. LB Rob Morris is already on the shelf for the year with a bad knee, and S Bob Sanders (who may get hurt a lot due to his reckless style), RB Joseph Addai and WR Marvin Harrison may all not make it in time for this. The Chicago Bears last week were favored and without four starters, albeit all on the defense, and look what happened to them! Stay posted on any news about this, 'cause if these cats are called off for this game, don't expect the present -10 for the Colts to stay as is. With all them out, the Tampa Bay side looks enticing.
Any more guarantees, Mr. Joey Porter???
"Write it how you want it; we will win on Sunday!" I quote Miami Dolphins LB Joey Porter, four days before their home game against Oakland last weekend. Consider quote written… how we want it. What would happen? Porter and the rest of his defense would allow one yard shy of 300 on the ground in a 35-17 loss, making a player they let go unceremoniously, QB Daunte Culpepper, look like Superman in the process. Porter should have saved his guarantee for this week, because he probably would have had a better chance. The Houston Texans beat a good Carolina defense in Week 2, nearly upset the Colts in Week 3 and then made Joey Harrington of all cats look good last week in losing to the Falcons. These teams have met only three times previously, in '02 (Dolphins away 24-3), '03 (Texans away 21-20) and last season (Texans home 17-15). As you can see, the last two have been close, but last year, Culpepper was the guy for Miami and David Carr was Houston's boy. A stat that shocks me is Miami is 3-10 -1 ATS in the AFC the last 14 games. Whoa. But Miami expects MLB Zach Thomas back for this one to stop the run woes and to provide inspiration, which the Dolphins better have in order to avoid 0-5.
