The New York Giants travel to Buffalo to take on a Bills team that has played above expectations this year. That’s not good for the Giants. The loss of Jeremy Shockey could have a huge impact on the Giants’ passing game as Shockey was the main outlet for quarterback Eli Manning.

Whenever Eli was in trouble, he looked to Shockey first. Now who does Eli go to? Nobody, really. Plaxico Burress will be covered like a blanket in this game but that’s not he reason that the Giants will lose this game outright. Before I give that reason let’s take a look at some NBA betting trends:

The Buffalo Bills are 2 and 6 against the spread versus a team with a winning record.

The New York Giants are 5 and 1 against the spread on the road this year.

The Buffalo Bills are 6 and 1 against the spread at home this year.

The Giants are on the downswing, going to a difficult place to play, against a young and up-and-coming team with a better than average rookie running back. I give the Giants little chance of winning this game. So, the chances I give them of covering the 2.5 points spread is nil.

The Giants are falling faster than a blazing meteor through the atmosphere for the simple reason that Eli can’t find the open receiver and the Giants can’t stop the run. It happens in the NFL and it happens the New York Giants every year.

I’m not saying that they won’t be competitive in this game. I’m just saying that in the fourth-quarter, Marshawn Lynch, the Bills’ excellent rookie running back, will have his way with the Giants front-line and, in what will be a cold, tough game, Lynch and the Bills will hold serve at home.

I like the Bills and the money-line in this one. Eli will get pressure all day, Buffalo will get Lynch going on the ground, and the Giants will inevitably implode in the fourth quarter like they do in almost every December game.
