Football Betting Odds: Indianapolis Looks To Stay Unbeaten
By BetUS Staff
The New England Patriots pasted the Miami Dolphins on Sunday afternoon to run their season record to a perfect 7-0, so can the Indianapolis Colts get past the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday night and stay unbeaten as well? And looking farther ahead, can the Colts pay off for those doing some NFL betting that they’ll finish the season 16-0?
In the BetUS props section you can currently get +1800 odds that Indianapolis will run the table during the regular season and grab 16 victories. The Colts have already knocked off the Saints, Titans, Texans, Broncos, and Buccaneers in succession to boost their record to 5-0, and they play the division rival Jaguars on Monday night. Here are the rest of Indianapolis’ regular-season opponents and their current win/loss marks:
at Carolina (4-2)
vs. New England (7-0)
at San Diego (3-3)
vs. Kansas City (4-3)
at Atlanta (1-6)
vs. Jacksonville (4-1)
at Baltimore (4-3)
at Oakland (2-4)
vs. Houston (3-4)
vs. Tennessee (4-2)
Indy’s matchup with the Patriots in a couple of weeks looms as the biggest threat to their unbeaten season, with the 4-2 Panthers (who have won two straight games) waiting as a possible trap game next Sunday. And let’s not forget about the Jaguars – they’ve won four games in a row, and their defense has been smothering this season. Jacksonville could put an end to Indy’s unbeaten talk before the dust settles on Week 7.
The Colts play the Jaguars a second time later in the season, and they also have potentially tough opponents in Baltimore, San Diego, and Tennessee before the end of the year. That could result in Indy getting knocked for multiple losses before all is said and done, and at BetUS you can place a wager on most of the Colts’ potential 2007 marks.
As we said earlier a 16-0 record for Indy is pegged at +1800 odds, but you can also get +750 odds on the Colts finishing 15-1 – maybe you think they’ll lose to the red-hot Patriots but no one else during the regular season. A correct guess of a 14-2 record would pay off at +450, with 13-3 at +300, 12-4 at +350, and 11-5 at +600. Indy would have to really go in the tank to get tagged with more than five losses over the next few months, but you can nevertheless get +1400 odds on them finishing at 10-6 and +2500 odds on them finishing at 9-7. An 8-8 record at the end of December? That’s at +10000.
The Colts might have an outside chance of going 16-0 straight-up this season, but against-the-spread they’ve already been tagged with a couple of losses. Indy failed to cover in Week 2 on the road against Tennessee, and in Week 3 on the road against Houston. The Colts, though, handily covered in their other three games, which were all played at home. Indy has played three straight OVER games and is now 3-2 on the OU.
Jacksonville went 0-2 against-the-spread in their first two games of the season, but since then they’ve gone 3-0 ATS against Denver, Kansas City, and Houston. At home this season the Jaguars are just 1-2 ATS. Those betting the UNDER on Jacksonville games have found that wager lucrative so far – the Jaguars have gone 2-3 on the OU.
For Monday night the NFL lines at BetUS have the Colts pegged as 3-point road favorites, while the total is sitting at 44.5 points. Check the BetUS odds section for updates on the line and total, as well as for the many prop bets available for this game.
