End Zone - March 9th Provides Great NBA Action

by D.S. Williamson

Because the NFL season has ended, the NBA has started to showcase their games on Sundays. Last Sunday the NBA showed Chicago vs. Cleveland and Dallas vs. Los Angeles Lakers. This weekend is no different as San Antonio, Phoenix, Chicago, Detroit and the Los Angeles Lakers all have games on Sunday.

No reason not to get into some deep analyzing, right?

Let’s take a look at some of the bigger match-ups on March 9th.

San Antonio Spurs vs. Phoenix Suns - - BetUS NBA bettors better start paying attention to the San Antonio Spurs. Earlier this season they were one of the worst teams in the NBA against the BetUS spread. In their last 9games they have gone a fantastic 6 and 3. They also play Phoenix tough no matter what the situation. The Suns? Well, they have gone 2 and 4 straight-up since the Shaq trade. That’s not very good. Phoenix’s record against the BetUS spread this year is 11-18-1. Now, they get to play the one team in the league that always seems to give them trouble, the San Antonio Spurs. What’s going on with the Suns? The problem isn’t necessarily Shaq. I just don’t think this team is playing very good defense and they’ve lost some of their identity by trying to move Shaq into their line-up. Shaq is doing what’s expected of him. It’s Steve Nash, Amare Stoudemire and Grant Hill who need to get things going offensively. Let Shaq just sit back and play D and all of a sudden this team should start winning, right? Okay, maybe it’s not that easy. This game versus the San Antonio Spurs is very, very important for the Suns. The key here is whether or not Shaq still has something in the tank to guard Tim Duncan. If the Suns have to use Amare on Duncan, then forget about these guys. They have no chance in the playoffs. I believe the Suns might be toast anyhow. So I’m going to go with the Spurs in this game. The BetUS line should be somewhere around Phoenix Suns – 3 points or so. That means that the Spurs could be a nice BetUS money-line wager on March 9th.

Free Pick: San Antonio Spurs

Chicago Bulls vs. Detroit Pistons - - The Pistons are very good and the Bulls are very bad. Then again, the Bulls have beaten the Pistons straight-up two games in a row. Why? I have no idea. Detroit is that classic one day we play like the greatest team in the world, for instance in their 30 point destruction of the Phoenix Suns, then they play like crap like losing by 8 points to the Utah Jazz or losing to someone like the Milwaukee Bucks. Yes, out of the Pistons’ 16 losses this season, one has been against the Bucks and two have been against the Bulls. Go figure. Anyhow, the Pistons have no business losing a Sunday nationally televised contest against a team that just isn’t all that good. I believe that the Pistons will be favored by around 8 or 10 points. That makes Detroit a tough team to wager on, but what else can we do? We definitely can’t take a Bulls team that traded defense (Ben Wallace) for offense (Larry Hughes). The Pistons will shut down Ben Gordon, Luol Deng, and Larry Hughes. Well, they should. The BetUS line will be higher then we like, but again - - what can we possibly do?

Free Pick: Detroit Pistons

**Other March 9th Games

Sacramento vs. Los Angele Lakers - - The Lakers are the best offensive team in the NBA. A lot of NBA watchers aren’t that crazy about the Lakers’ defense, but offensively they are excellent. Sacramento is a team that needs a lot of help. The BetUS NBA betting line will be astronomical in this game - - think Lakers – 16 or 17 points. It won’t matter. I think the Lakers are so much better then Sacramento that winning by anything less then 20 points will be a big upset to me.

Philadelphia vs. Milwaukee - - Both teams are awful. The Bucks are 15 and 13 against the BetUS spread at home. The 76’ers are 15-14-1 against the spread on the road. This is going to be a toss-up. I like the 76’ers just because Andre Igoudala strikes me as an up and comer in the league.

Seattle vs. Toronto - - Seattle will be about a ten to 12.5 BetUS underdogs in this game. Kevin Durant is good. Toronto forward Chris Bosh is awesome. The Sonics should have no chance in this Sunday laugher.

Until next week, good luck!
