NCAAF Betting: Scarlet Knights vs. Black Knights
By D.S. Williamson
Things haven’t exactly worked out for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights this season. Going into this season, Rutgers was considered the top team in the Big East after only West Virginia and Louisville.
Things haven’t gone as planned as the Scarlet Knights have lost 4 out of their nine games this season. To make matters worse, the Scarlet Knights were embarrassed in their last two games losing to West Virginia by a score of 31 to 3 and to Connecticut by a score of 38 to 13.
The loss to Connecticut had to really sting considering that the Huskies were throwing around a pig-skin on that field not bouncing a round-ball. Yeah, not all has been merry in the land of the Scarlet Knights but just when you thought things could get worse for these fellas along come a group of knights that are even worse.
I sort of compare what’s going to happen on Friday night to what might happen if the knights from that Monty Python play, Spamalot, took on the goblin dudes from the Lord of the Rings. It’s going to get ugly, man, real ugly.
Here’s a trend to think about:
The Army Black Knights are 4-10-1 against the spread in their last 15 games.
Now, that wouldn’t be so bad except Army doesn’t exactly have one of the toughest schedules in Division I-A football. Sure, they only lost by 20 points to Boston College, but they’ve also lost to Wake Forest, Akron, Central Michigan, Georgia Tech and Air Force this year.
I’d wager Rutgers would beat any one of those teams by at least 10 points. That makes the Scarlet Knights a very good bet in this one.
Army has no chance of stopping the Scarlet Knights’ running game. Nor does Army have a chance of scoring on the Scarlet Knights. Rutgers will dominate this game from kick-off, running it down Army’s throats, and just absolutely throttling West Point.
The BetUS college football betting line is Rutgers – 19.5 against the spread on the road versus Army.
This is a no-brainer take the Scarlet Knights to end their two game losing streak in style, by pummeling the Army Black Knights.
