NCAAB Wagering Action - Kansas (- 12) vs. Georgia Tech (+ 12)

The undefeated Kansas Jayhawks take their Rock, Chalk, Jayhawk Show on the road to the Georgia Tech to take on the Yellowjackets. This sets up as a great game as both team the Jayhawks and Yellowjackets come from power conferences: the ACC and Big-12 respectively.

More interesting than that is the fact that both Georgia Tech and Kansas are steeped in college basketball lore: Danny Manning and Kenny Anderson, Bobby Cremins and Larry Brown, Jacque Vaughn and Jarrett Jacks…

Two great programs squaring off on a Tuesday - - can it get any better for college basketball fans? Probably not, but that might not translate to a nice score for college basketball bettors, right?

The Kansas Jayhawks are 2 and 6 against the spread in their last 8 games vs. a team from the ACC.

The Georgia Tech Yellowjackets are 8 and 3 against the spread in their last 11 games on Tuesday night.

What this comes down to is whether or not the Jayhawks win by the 12 points that they are giving to the Yellowjackets. That may sound easy to figure out but it definitely isn’t. The Jackets have played great during stretches this year. Their close loss to the Indiana Hoosiers was actually the best game they’ve played all season.

Of course, then they drop a game versus Vanderbilt. The Commodores are undefeated this year. So maybe that loss doesn’t mean much, but the way they lost - - man, that was bad. The Jackets will need to step their game up in this one in order to compete because Kansas is definitely one of the top three teams in the nation.

But, 12 points just appears to be too much for me. I mean, the Jackets are at home and Kansas will stub their toe down the line this year. No team goes undefeated in college basketball odds anymore.

If there is a money-line offered in this game, then take it. Why not? You’ll be getting odds on a tough ACC team in their own backyard against a Big-12 squad that usually doesn’t play well versus the ACC.

In any case I have to take Georgia Tech and the points in this one.
