NCAA Basketball Betting – Texas at Oklahoma State
By Charles Jay
BetUS NCAA basketball betting odds: TEXAS -4, Total 146
The Oklahoma State Cowboys (10-7 SU, 3-6 ATS) will try to bounce back from two straight losses on Monday night when they play host to the Texas Longhorns (14-3 SU, 6-6 ATS) at the Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater. Game time for this Big 12 matchup is 9 PM ET.
In the BetUS NCAA college basketball betting odds, Texas is listed at -4, with the total posted at 146 points.
Here are some of the NCAA basketball betting trends and stats relative to this matchup:
* TEX has covered one of its last six gams
* TEX has played four of its last five gams UNDER the total
* TEX has covered six of its last eight road games
* TEX has played five of its last seven road games OVER the total
* OSU has won five of its last seven games SU
* OSU has won its last five home games
* OSU has played four of its last five games OVER the total
* TEX has covered six of the last seven meetings
* TEX has won five of the last seven meetings SU
* Seven of the last ten meetings have gone UNDER the total
* OSU has covered four of the last six meetings as the home team
* OSU has won five of the last six meetings SU as the home team
* Four of the last six meetings at OSU have gone OVER the total
* TEX has made more three-pointers in four of the last five meetings
* TEX averages 80 ppg
* TEX averages 79.2 ppg on the road (13th in nation)
* TEX shoots 48.4% from the field
* OSU averages 9.9 steals a game
* OSU averages 11.2 assists per game
* OSU shoots 71% from the free throw line
The Longhorns could be without standout guard AJ Abrams, who is day-to-day with a foot injury, but standout point guard D.J. Augustin is still around, which means good shot selection for the "horns, who have dropped almost eight three-pointers a game.
Texas is not getting the money lately (1-5 ATS last six), but is good enough to have beaten UCLA, Tennessee and Saint Mary's already; they suffocate on defense (less than 40% FG's allowed) and take care of the basketball (9.8 turnovers per game). Oklahoma State, with its minus-1.5 assist-to-turnover ratio, has fumbled away two straight to Iowa State and Baylor, which both posted big second-half rallies to blow by the Cowboys. True, OSU beat undersized Texas Tech, but they have failed miserably when moving up in class against the likes of Pittsburgh (17-point loss) and Marquette (30-point defeat).
At this point, unless school benefactor T. Boone Pickens can buy off an official or two, Oklahoma State is undermanned and outgunned in this one against a Texas squad that is more explosive (80 ppg), more disciplined, and has covered six of the last seven meetings in the series, including the last three right here in this building.
We'll lay the points with Texas, the four-point favorites in the BetUS NCAA college basketball betting odds.
