NCAAB Betting - South Carolina vs. Kentucky Wildcats

Kentucky coach Billie Gilispie finally got his Wildcats to play the way he wanted them to. What happened? A win versus one of the best teams in college basketball, the Tennessee Volunteers. The BetUS NCAAB odds makers will have a tough time determining what the line should be in this game. I think it will be higher then two but less than six. That win over the Volunteers was nice for Kentucky but they will have to start doing much more against lesser teams (like covering spreads!) before I believe that they can get back into the thick of this NCAAB season.
Here are some trends:
The Kentucky Wildcats are 4 and 1 against the spread versus a team with a losing road record.
The ROAD team is 5 and 0 against the spread in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.
The Kentucky Wildcats are 1 and 6 against the spread in their last 7 games following an against the spread win.
The South Carolina Gamecocks are 4 and 0 against the spread in their last 4 games in Kentucky.
The Gamecocks seem to have the Wildcats’ number in this game. They play well in Kentucky and have a very similar straight-up record to the Wildcats. The key will be whether or not Gilispie’s team comes out and builds upon the upset win over the Tennessee Volunteers. If they can do that, then they should have no problem dispatching of the Gamecocks in this game.
I’m not sure if they will. The Wildcats might come onto the court and just lay an egg in this game. They’ve done it a few times this season. Maybe they left too much emotion on the court in their stunning victory over the Volunteers. In any case I’m inclined to go with the overall trends here and pick the Gamecocks at anywhere between a BetUS + 4 to BetUS + 7.
That’s what I’m going to do.
The predicted BetUS NCAAB line is South Carolina Gamecocks + 4 against the spread on the road versus the Kentucky Wildcats.
I’m going to put my wagering range at 4 points or higher. If the Gamecocks get 4 points or higher by the BetUS odds makers, then I’m wagering on the Gamecocks in this one.
