NCAA Basketball Betting – Oklahoma at Kansas State
By Charles Jay
BetUS college basketball bettors will get a chance to see one of the nation's best freshmen on Saturday as the Kansas State Wildcats (16-5 SU, 9-6 ATS) play host to the Oklahoma State Cowboys (11-11 SU, 5-9 ATS) in Big 12 action tipping off at 6 PM ET at the Bramlage Coliseum in Manhattan, KS.
Here are some of the NCAA college basketball betting trends relative to this matchup:
* OSU has lost six of its last seven games SU
* OSU has covered two of its last seven games
* OSU has played its last five games UNDER the total
* OSU has covered one of its last nine road games
* OSU has lost its last 18 road games SU
* KSU has covered six of its last seven games
* KSU has won seven of its last eight games SU
* KSU has won its last nine home games SU
* OSU has won the last five meetings SU
* OSU has covered the last five meetings
* OSU has made more three-pointers in each of the last six meetings
There is no freshman in the country who has had more of an impact on his team than Michael Beasley, the 6'10" bull who has scored over 25 points and pulled down 13 rebounds per contest. But he's not the only standout first-year player for the Wildcats. Bill Walker, a former high school teammate of OJ Mayo, has averaged nearly 16 points a game.
This team has improved greatly on the defensive end from the start of the season, and that is bad news and bad timing for Oklahoma State, which has lost 18 straight road games and shot 41% or below in each of its last five contests. The Cowboys suffer from a lack of effective ball movement (only 10.5 assist per game) and have no chance on the glass against a K-State team that leads the nation with 42.1 rebounds per home game.
We have to give the kids from KSU a pass for the loss to Missouri because they were just coming off an emotional win over Kansas. that got them to #20 in the country, which they deserve. Here they're paying full attention, looking to snap a five-game losing streak to this opponent. As we've said before, not even T. Boone Pickens' money can buy OSU a win on the road.
We're going to lay the points with Kansas State in the BetUS NCAA college basketball betting odds.
JAY'S PREDICTION: KANSAS STATE BY 23
