College Basketball Picks - Texas A&M Aggies vs. Baylor Bears

by Mike Rose

Who can forget the game both of these clubs participated in against one another back in late January? Unfortunately the answer to that question is only the people in attendance, but it’s almost impossible for me to imagine that’s possible. Why you ask, well listen up. The Aggies and Bears played in what’s been deemed the ‘Game of the Year” when Baylor upended the Aggies 116-110 in 5 overtimes. That’s right, 5 overtimes!!! The teams set or tied six conference records, including points by a team and combined points. Other records set included Baylor's 70 rebounds, 97 field-goal attempts, 39 made free throws and Curtis Jerrells' 20 made free throws. Perhaps the only thing more unusual than a game with five overtimes was a Big 12 game with no television coverage; especially considering both clubs came in ranked in the Top 25 at the time.

That said, ESPN has pieced together the bits and pieces that were displayed on the arena’s Jumbotron, and added in the color and play-by-play from the Aggies radio broadcasters. This delectable telecast will be aired tonight on ESPN Classic at 6:00 ET followed by the rematch scheduled to air on ESPN2 at 9:00 ET.

Texas A&M is off their most putrid effort of the year that saw them only manage to put 37 points on the board in Norman and fall to the Oklahoma Sooners by a 64-37 final count. This effort came just a game after they pasted in-state rival Texas Tech by a 98-54 final count. Can you say letdown? The Aggies have now dropped 4 of their L/5 ATS, and they’ve dropped each of their last two Big 12 road contests by considerable amounts.

Baylor has won 12 of its 15 home games this season, but they’ve taken on a very unimpressive cast of foes in this venue. They’re 5-2 SU at home against Big 12 opponents, but they only managed to cover 3 of those 7 contests. However, they come into tonight’s contest on a three game winning streak and they’ve won and covered in each of their last two home games against Missouri and K-State.

Baylor has been deemed 2-points better than the Aggies in this spot with the ‘total’ set at 147. You can get down on both of these lines at BetUS.com right now!!! The underdog is 8-1 ATS the L/9 meetings and the road team is 4-1 ATS the L/5, but Baylor is a stellar 7-1 ATS the last eight times they’ve hosted the Aggies and 8-1 ATS the L/9 times they’ve squared off regardless of venue.
