NCAAB Betting - Oregon (predict:+ 7) vs. Arizona (predict:- 7)
By D.S. Williamson
Okay, so now that Pac-10 basketball has started it is truly time to get going with real picks against the spread. Of course, that makes it difficult since the college basketball spreads are determined usually the morning of the games. By that time, I’ve all ready written these articles. Oh, well, the best we can do is set up rules to govern our college basketball gambling and stick to overall trends.
Check out these regarding these two teams:
The Oregon Ducks are 7 and 1 against the spread in their last 8 games versus a rival from the Pac-10.
The Oregon Ducks are 4 and 1 against the spread in their last 5 games after an against the spread loss.
The Arizona Wildcats are 1-5-1 against the spread in their last 7 games following an against the spread loss.
Oregon is 9 and 4 on the year so far, but they are much better than what their record indicates. Without a doubt the Ducks have the guns to contest some of the better teams in the Pac-10. That includes the Arizona Wildcats who at times play down or up to the level of their competition.
The Ducks might not even need the Cats to do that as the Ducks, no doubt, will turn things around this season.
The bottom line with this game as with most NCAAB games is the point spread. Where it ends up shortly before game time is going to determine how you should wager on this game.
If the Cats are less than a seven point favorite, then the Oregon Ducks should be a tempting straight-up money-line wager. If the Cats end up as favorites of seven points or more, then take the Ducks and the points.
Why? Because that’s the most logical wager (or wagers) in this situation. Arizona can certainly cover a 7 point spread or higher in this game, but the trends say that either the Ducks win straight-out or Arizona doesn’t cover at all. The lower the point spread, the better the chance the Ducks have of winning the game straight-out in my mind.
The predicted BetUS NCAA basketball line is Oregon Ducks + 7 against the spread on the road versus the Arizona Wildcats.
If the spread ends up at 7 or higher, then take the Ducks and the points. If the spread ends up lower than 7 points, then wager on the money-line.
