College Basketball Odds - Cal Poly vs. Long Beach State

Cal Poly Slo Mustangs (-1) vs. Long Beach State 49’ers (+1)
Tip-off: 10:05 pm EST.
Besides providing a great BetUS wagering opportunity, what’s another reason to watch tonight’s game between Cal Poly Slo and Long Beach State? To see one of the better players in the country take the floor. That player, Donovan Morris, suits up for the Long Beach State 49’ers. He is averaging 21 points a game, can rebound, and is excellent on the free-throw line. Of course, even Donovan might not be enough to bring home a win tonight for the 49’ers.
In their last ten games, poor Long Beach State has gone 5 and 5 against the BetUS spread. For a team that has only won 6 games this season, that’s not too bad. At home the LBS is 7 and 3 against the BetUS spread. That’s pretty darn good.
Cal Poly Slo beat Long Beach State by 12 points in the last meeting between these two teams. In that one Morris put up 15 points and grabbed 6 rebounds, but he committed 7 turnovers. He was forcing everything. At home tonight Morris will need to play a very good game in order for the LBS to pull out a win. Here are some other trends:

The Long Beach State 49’ers are 4 and 1 against the spread in their last 5 games on a Thursday night.
The Long Beach State 49’ers are 7 and 1 against the spread in their last 8 games versus a team with a losing road record.
The Long Beach State 49’ers are 6 and 1 against the spread in their last 7 games at home versus a team with a road winning percentage of less than .400.
Donovan Morris could put on a show tonight. He has put up 25 against Cal State Fullerton, 25 against Cal State Irvine, 32 against Cal State Bakersfield and 30 against Pacific so far this season. When he’s on, Morris can pretty much score at will.
Because of that this feels like an easy game to call. Morris will be at home this time, where he is comfortable, in front of the Long Beach State fans, and that should translate into a Long Beach State win. Sure, the 49’ers are just a bad overall team, but Cal Ply Slo doesn’t have anybody close on their team who is as talented as Donovan Morris.
When it comes to these sorts of games, where both teams are just atrocious, I tend to favor the home team. When the home team has the best player, my decision is easy.
