College Basketball Betting Picks - IDAHO at HAWAII

BetUS NCAA college basketball betting odds: HAWAII -11, Total 137

The Hawaii Warriors (11-14 SU, 8-14 ATS), who might be in line for an NIT or CBI bid if they can go on a late run, simply because teams would love to go there for a game, will play host to the Idaho vandals (6-19 SU, 8-11-1 ATS) in Western Athletic Conference (WAC) action that begins at Midnight ET on Thursday night at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.

In the BetUS NCAA college basketball betting odds, Hawaii is listed as an 11-point favorite, with a total of 137 points.

Here are some of the NCAA college basketball betting trends as they relate to this matchup:

* IDAHO is 1-3-1 ATS in its last five games
* IDAHO has lost six of its last seven games SU
* IDAHO has played five of its last seven road games UNDER the total
* IDAHO has covered four of the last five meetings
* HAW has played seven of its last ten games UNDER the total
* HAW has won six of its last seven home games SU
* HAW has played its last five home games UNDER the total
* HAW has won four of the last five meetings SU
* Four of the last five meetings have gone OVER the total
* HAW has had the shooting edge in four of the last five meetings
* HAW has had the rebounding edge in three of the last five meetings

Idaho has yet to win away from home this season in 13 tries. And the trip can't have been that comforting. I mean, have YOU ever tried to go from Pocatello to Honolulu? It's not an easy journey. None of this bodes well for the Vandals, who have a MINUS-1.33 ratio of assists to turnovers, and one of the worst records of scoring on the road of any Division I team (55.7 ppg, which is 323rd). And Idaho's marksmanship from the free throw line (61.6%) also leaves something to be desired.

Hawaii is not a big three-point shooting team (just 16 made in the last four games). But the Rainbows do just about everything else fundamentally better. The problem is that they don't put a lot of distance between themselves and opponents, registering just a 2-6 ATS record when laying points.

We're looking for a sluggish offensive performance from Idaho, to be sure, but we also recognize that Hawaii likes to dictate pace. And that pace has moved them toward lower scoring games lately (7-3 to the "under" in last ten).

We think this is a very manageable number. So we go UNDER the 137 points, as it is posted in the BetUS NCAA college basketball betting odds.

JAY'S PLAY: UNDER 137
