NCAAB Betting - Washington State (+ 1.5) vs. USC (- 1.5)

Tough game tonight for the Cougars who are one of the last remaining undefeated teams in college basketball. I’ve been burned by the Trojans the last two times they have played, both losses, but I haven’t jumped off of their bandwagon yet. Heck, maybe I’m sadist.

In any case I’m hoping that these NCAA basketball betting trends point to where we should go in this game:

The Washington State Cougars are 9 and 4 against the spread in their last 13 games on a Thursday night.

The Washington State Cougars are 5 and 11 in their last 16 meetings versus the USC Trojans.

The FAVORITE is 11 and 5 against the spread the last 16 times these two teams have met.

The Trojans dropped their last two games versus Stanford and Cal and, unless they want to start out their Pac-10 schedule by going 0 and 3, will have to come up big versus one of the top teams in the nation.

Washington State is solid. At this point they are the best team in the Pac-10. They are 13 and 0 and playing with confidence. But I’m not sure how good they really are. Like Stanford, the Cougars haven’t had the toughest schedule imaginable.

As the college basketball season progresses, I can see them coming back to the rest of the Pac-10. The Cougars have been beating bad teams by big margins, but that can change starting tonight when they take on a USC team that needs to find itself in a hurry or suffer the embarrassment of being the most hyped team in the country NOT to make it to the Big Dance.

Because they’re coached by Tim Floyd, I don’t see that happening. USC should put it together tonight and win this game outright versus the undefeated Washington State Cougars.
