College Basketball Betting Arizona at UCLA
by D.S Williamson
Hmm…I wonder if that loss to the USC Trojans woke the Bruins up. Since that lost they’ve beaten the Oregon Ducks by 5 points, the Oregon State Beavers by 23 points and on Thursday night they wholloped a pretty good ASU Sun Devils’ team by 33 points. Arizona hasn’t been bad either. The Cats have gone 6 and 0 against the spread in their last 6 games. They’ve beaten Washington, Washington State, USC, and Cal straight-up in that stretch.
Here are some trends:
The Arizona Wildcats are 5 and 0 against the spread in their last 5 games versus a rival from the Pac-10 Conference.
The UCLA Bruins are 5 and 1 against the spread in their last 6 games versus a rival from the Pac-10 Conference.
The Arizona Wildcats are 5 and 2 against the spread in the last 7 games versus the UCLA Bruins.
The ROAD team is 5 and 2 against the spread in the last 7 games between these two teams.
As often as things change in the Pac-10, things remain the same, right? USC gets Tim Floyd to coach and O.J. Mayo to play. Both Washington State and Oregon make runs in the NCAA Tournament last year. Coach Lute Olsen decides to take the year off.
Where are we now? A game versus the UCLA Bruins and the Arizona Wildcats for supremacy in the Pac-10. Forget records in this one. Forget the fact that UCLA is supposedly more talented. Forget the fact that the Wildcats have a new coach on the sidelines this season.
This is going to be a very, very good game. In a good game, what do we do as BetUS NCAAB bettors? We go with the underdog, of course!
That would be Arizona who will come at Josh Shipp and Kevin Love with Chase Budinger and Jeryd Bayless. The Shipp versus Budinger match-up is going to be particularly interesting as both players can practically score at will.
Love will have to deal with Greg Hill, Arizona’s sophomore center who can score and rebound with some of the better big men in the nation, but hasn’t faced a player like Kevin Love yet.
If there is a problem for UCLA it will be having to deal with Jeryd Bayless who is my freshman of the year, okay, maybe Michael Beasly at K-State is playing better, but Bayless is definitely up there.
Because of all of that I’m all over the Cats in this one. Arizona is turning into a very solid team. Expect the rest of the nation to take notice after Saturday. I’m calling the BetUS money-line upset!
I’m taking the Arizona Wildcats to upset the UCA Bruins straight-up on Saturday.
