CBB Betting - Northern Illinois Huskies vs. Central Michigan Chippewas

The second game of the MAC Tournament pits the (6-21) Northern Illinois huskies against the (13-16) Central Michigan Chippewas. The Huskies are the 11th seed, while the Chippewas garnered the 6th seed. Neither club has a realistic chance of winning this tournament, but there is sure to be a lot of emotion inside Quicken Loans Arena for this one. Everyone is aware of the brutal murders that took place this past Valentines Day on the DeKalb campus of Northern Illinois. The stage is set for the Huskies to make some noise, but now its up to the team to see this thing through.

Northern put forth a dreadful 2007-08 campaign that only saw them secure victories in 6 of their 27 overall games. They went a woeful 1-12 SU in their road games this year and 0-1 SU in their lone neutral court contest. However, they went a $$$-making 8-6 ATS and beat the Vegas line in 4 of their l/5 road contests.

As for Central Michigan, they split 5 of their L/10 games SU and went 5-4-1 ATS over that stretch. The Chippewas only played in 11 home games this season where they went 8-3 SU and 4-5-1 ATS, but they went 5-13 SU and 7-9 ATS in their 18 road/neutral court games. They went 2-3 SU but 4-1 ATS in the L/5 road games of their regular season schedule.

Central Michigan owns a 6-4 SU and 8-2 ATS mark against the Huskies in their L/10 meetings. They’re also in the midst of covering six straight in the series, which includes both of their wins this season. They upended the Huskies at home by a 77-63 final count as 11-point home chalks in last January, and then went into DeKalb and took care of the Huskies as 1-point road chalks.

The Chippewas have been installed favorites of 6.5 points for their third meeting of the year, and the ‘total’ has been set at 145.5. You can get down on both the side and ‘total’ for this game at BetUS.com right now!!!

This is far from being considered a must see match-up. However, the emotional aspect of the game should certainly peek one’s interest knowing full well that Northern Illinois will be playing with their hearts on their sleeves looking to make a memorable run throughout this tourney to lift the spirits of the many that were affected by last month’s tragedy.
