Off-Track Wagering: Breeders' Cup

This year's Breeders Cup takes place over a course of two days at Monmouth Park. Monmouth will be the ninth track to play host to the Breeders’ Cup, which will be run for the 24th time this year. The first ever two-day annual event will start on Friday, Oct. 26 with the running of the $1 million Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint at 4:25pm EST.

Set for 5pm EST is the $1 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf race for two-year-olds. The first day will conclude with the $1 million Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile with a post-time of 5:35pm EST. The Dirt Mile will include a star-studded field of three-year-olds and up which features Discrete Cat, Diamond Stripes and Corinthian.

Saturday, Oct. 27, the action begins at 12:30pm EST with the $2 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies. Approximately every 45 minutes another race will go off as the day concludes with the $5 million Breeders' Cup Classic at 5:35pm EST. Saturday's Complete Schedule:

The Breeders' Cup Classic features superstar three-year-olds such as Kentucky Derby champion Street Sense, Preakness winner Curlin, Kentucky Derby runner-up Hard Spun, Whitney Handicap winner Lawyer Ron, Tiago and Any Given Saturday. The nine-horse field pre-entered for the Classic, at 1 1/4 miles for 3-year-olds and up, is arguably the strongest in the 24-year history of the event, rivaling the 1998 Classic which featured Kentucky Derby winner Silver Charm, and Belmont Stakes winners Touch Gold, Victory Gallop and that season’s eventual Horse of the Year, Skip Away.

With eleven championships races and $23 million in total purses, this year’s Breeders’ Cup is the world’s richest sporting event and a mega two day's of action for the sports betting community.
