NBA Betting Action – Expect Offensive Affair As Jazz Host Suns
By Eric Williams
The Phoenix Suns, (24-10 SU, 15-18-1 ATS, 18-16 O/U) may have outlasted the Indiana Pacers 129-122 in overtime last night, but the Suns have covered the spread just once in their last four games.
The Utah Jazz, (19-17 SU, 16-20 ATS, 21-15 O/U) are 3-1 in their last four games, but have been maddeningly inconsistent all season after reaching the western conference finals last season.
The Jazz are coming off a solid 111-89 win over the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday night but have covered the spread just once against the Pacers – in their last three games.
The Suns may also be without two-time MVP, point guard Steve Nash, who is dealing with a bout against the stomach flu at the moment.
This game could turn out to be an offensive explosion as the Suns are ranked first in scoring, averaging 110.7 points per game while the Jazz are ranked fifth in scoring, averaging 104.7 points per game.
Unfortunately, both teams are also ranked in the bottom third in defense, with each club allowing more than 100 points per game. (Utah, 100.5, Phoenix, 104.7)
Here is a look at tonight’s Key Trends, followed by my analysis and NBA Betting Free Picks:

The Jazz are 18-5-1 ATS in their last 24 games as a home favorite.
Key Totals Trends
The Under is 5-1 in Suns last six Thursday games.
The Under is 4-1 in Suns last five vs. NBA Northwest.
The Over is 13-3 in Jazz last 16 vs. NBA Pacific.
The Over is 4-1 in Jazz last five games as a favorite of 0.5-4.5.
Key Head-to-Head Trends
The Under is 5-2-1 in the last eight meetings.
The Suns are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in Utah.
The Suns are 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings.
Analysis: I like the Utah Jazz tonight, if for no other reason than the Suns’ overtime game against the Pacers last night had to take something out of them while the Jazz should be a bit more rested having a night off. Take the Jazz to cover the spread just barely. As far as the Over/Under is concerned, I’m thinking the 221-Point line is just a bit too high, even for these two teams. Take the Under.
