Betting - Catella Swedish Open Quarterfinal Tennis Free Picks
by Nila Amerova
Bastaad, Sweden – Tennis betting at BetUS Sportsbook is a year-round affair. This week in the online tennis wagering market sports bettors can find a whole host of tennis odds on various tournaments, namely the Catella Swedish Open. With the tournament entering the quarterfinal round, here is a look at the tennis matchups that are on offer at BetUs.
Tennis Betting Line: Potito Starace vs. Tomas Berdych
Match Time: 05:00 AM Eastern Time, Friday July 11, 2008
Tennis Analysis: Tomas Berdych has seen his ranking fall over the last few months. Now at No,23 in the world, the former top 10 player has been a bit of a disappointment this year. He brings an 19-13 mark for the season to the Catella Swedish Open. Inconsistent and mentally a train-wreck betting on this talented player is always a risk. He can win more matches than he does, but simply put he does not.
The reason is a mystery. Potito Starace ranks No. 58 in the world and brings a 13-17 mark in to the quarters. He beat Safin in the second round, which was a huge mental boost.
Tennis Betting Verdict: In terms of quality of player, calibre and talent, Berdych has all the right check marks. However his handicap is a lack of confidence and a tendency to lose matches he should win. Nevertheless, I will take a risk on him this time around.
Tennis Free Picks: Berdych in straight sets
Tennis Betting Line: Bjorn Rehnquist vs. Fernando Verdasco
Match Time: 05:00 AM Eastern Time, Friday July 11, 2008
Tennis Analysis: Over the last few months, Spaniard Fernando Verdasco has improved significantly. His reward for some of his excellent tournament performances was to crack the top 20. Verdasco has long been held a talented player – particularly on the red stuff. But inconsistent play and seesawing confidence has seen him fall short of expectations. Recently though, it would seem all is behind him as finished runner-up in Nottingham (lost to Ivo Karlovic). He also reached the R16 of both the French Open and Wimbledon Championships.
Tennis Betting Verdict: Verdasco should be a huge favourite coming into this match. He faces wild card entrant in Bjorn Rehnquist – a player who is in this tournament for one reason and one reason only – he is Swedish. On paper, this should be a straightforward victory for the now No.13 ranked player in the world Verdasco. Historically this tournament has been dominated by Spaniards – well at least over the last five years. Verdasco as the second seed has an excellent opportunity to continue Spain’s domination by keeping his campaign alive.
Tennis Free Picks: Verdasco in straight sets
