Super Bowl Betting Props – Wes Welker Props
By Russell Edward
New England’s receiving corps has had the luxury to be part of the highest scoring offence in NFL history, Not only that, but most of that offensive display came through the air, courtesy of all-world quarterback, Tom Brady. For Super Bowl XLII betting, we here at the BetUS sportsbook, have tons of props on pretty much every Patriots receiver. As we continue to take the reins from the land casino dinosaurs, you, the football betting public, will continue to reap the benefits. For those of us who love to bet on the NFL, this is our last, real chance until next season. My job is to help you pad your bankroll enough to keep you betting for fun right through the offseason on our baseball lines, tennis odds and even pretty much every UFC fight that happens.
New York Giants +11.5 vs. New England Patriots –11.5
Let’s focus on the Patriots receiver Wes Welker for now, however, while we still can. Just go to the BetUS sportsbook and scroll down past the Super Bowl lines and then past the alternative Super Bowl odds. Below, in the WR Props section, you’ll find these New England Patriots receivers prop wagers to bet on. We’ll go by the numbers on the left of the bets, called Rotation Numbers, to make it easier to follow.
Super Bowl Betting: 6:20 p.m. EST in Glendale, Arizona
Number 498/499: This first Welker prop is on the total reception yards he will have in the entire game, and the bookies have set the over/under at 75.5 yards. That may not seem like a whole lot for the man who led the NFL in receptions and now has 128 on the season, but look a little closer. Right now, Welker has 128 catches for 1285 yards in 18 games. That works out to 7.1 receptions per game for 71.4 yards, with a 10-yard average per catch. However, in Week 17, the Giants allowed Welker to catch 11 passes for 122 yards, his third-best day of the season. Having lost such a close game, and saying, to a man, that there was no moral victory at all from that loss, you have to know the G-men are going to adjust their defense to take Welker out of the picture at least somewhat. If they give him more coverage and force him into a below average day, you have to take the under here, and that seems to me to be the smart play.
Number 436/437: For the same reasons as laid out in the above Welker prop, you should be taking the under on this one, which asks you to decide over or under a total of 7.5 reception s in Super Bowl xlii.
Number 528/529: Will Welker’s first catch go for more than 9.5 yards, or less? As we have seen, his average catch is 10 yards long, just enough to win this wager. Unless, of course, you think ahead and see that there is no way the NY Giants are going to let this small receiver with the big heart beat them again. Take the under here, too. Sorry, Wes, but New York simply has to keep you in check.
