Tennis Betting - Australian Open Women’s Picks

Okay tennis bettors, as the Australian Open moves further into the second week with the beginning of quarterfinal and semifinal matches this week, it is time to take a look at two women’s quarterfinals matches this evening that should both turn out to be bankroll increasing bets.
Here is a look at each matchup, followed by my Australian Open Betting WTA Free Picks:
Analysis: Williams holds a 4-0 career edge over Ivanovic, beating her in straight sets each time, including twice in 2007 at Wimbledon and the U.S. Open. However the fourth-ranked Ivanovic has improved immensely over the last 18 months and can clearly play with any of the top 10 players in the world, including Williams.
Ivanovic had never advanced past the third round in Australia until this year while the eighth-ranked Williams didn’t play in last season’s Aussie Open, but did come in second place in 2003. Williams has also reached the semis in Australia once and the quarterfinal round on three other occasions.
Williams hasn’t dropped a set this tournament and dispatched Marta Domachowska 6-4, 6-4 in her last match.
Ivanovic also has not lost a set this tournament and pounded Caroline Wozniacki 6-1, 7-6 (2) in her fourth round match.
While I really like both players in this match, I’m going to go against my better judgment and go with Ivanovic to make a big breakthrough in her carerr by picking up a victory over Williams to advance to the semifinal round.

Analysis: Interestingly enough, though the ninth-ranked Hantuchova is certainly the more established player, it is Radwanska who holds a 1-0 career advantage here, beating Hantuchova 6-3, 6-3 last year in Zurich.
Hantuchova has never advanced past the quarterfinal round in Australia and has never appeared in a Grand Slam singles final in her career.
The 19-year-old Radwanska has opened more than a few eyes in this tournament (mine included) and certainly has an excellent shot at winning this match.
Radwanska beat the favored, World No. 14, Nadia Petrova in her last match, 6-1, 5-7, 6-0 while Hantuchova toppled Maria Kirilenko 1-6, 6-4, 6-4.
I’ve always like Daniela Hantuchova, but I’ll admit she’s lacking big time in the ‘heart’ department. I like the red-hot Radwanska to win and advance.
