NFL Wagering – Philadelphia (5-8) at Dallas (12-1)
By Eric Williams
The tides have certainly turned this season for the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys this season – and all I’m going to say is that I saw it coming a mile away.
The Cowboys (12-1) come in to this contest having won seven straight games since suffering their only loss of the season to New England on Oct. 14 while the Eagles are just looking to finish out their season on a positive note while missing the playoffs for the first time in years.
The Cowboys had a tougher-than-expected game last week, but managed to beat the Detroit Lions 28-27 as quarterback Tony Romo went 35-of-44 for 302 yards and two touchdowns. Dallas scored 14 points in the final quarter to come back and beat the Lions.
The Eagles come into this contest having lost three consecutive games, including last week’s 16-13 loss to the New York Giants.
Quarterback Donovan McNabb has been mediocre at best this season, in leading the Eagles to a 5-6 record with him at the helm while leading the Eagles to a puny average of just over 19 points per game in his starts.
The best thing going for Philadelphia is elusive running back Brian Westbrook who has rushed for 1,110 yards and seven touchdowns on 236 carries and is just 107 yards shy of setting a new career-high for rushing yards.
The Eagles, (5-8 SU, 6-7 ATS, 6-7 O/U) are ranked eighth in overall offense, averaging 352.9 yards and 20.8 points per game and 10th in overall defense, allowing 317.3 yards and 20.2 points per game.
The Cowboys, (12-1 SU, 9-4 ATS, 10-3 O/U) are ranked second in overall offense, averaging 388.8 yards and 32.5 points per game and eighth in overall defense, allowing 310.5 yards and 21.2 points per game.
Here is a look at tonight’s key trends, followed by my analysis and free NFL betting picks.

The Eagles are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games.

The Cowboys are 5-1 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.
The Cowboys are 10-2-1 ATS in their last 13 games on grass.
Key Totals Trends
The Over is 4-0 in Eagles last four games as a road underdog.
The Over is 8-1 in Eagles last nine games as an underdog of 3.5-10.0.
The Over is 4-0 in Cowboys last four vs. NFC East.
The Over is 5-0 in Cowboys last five games after allowing more than 150 yards rushing in their previous game.
Key Head-to-Head Trends
The Eagles are 8-3 ATS in their last eleven meetings in Dallas.
The Road team is 5-2 ATS in their last seven meetings.
The Underdog is 5-1 ATS in their last six meetings.
Analysis: Simply put, I’ll be surprised if this game isn’t over by halftime. The Cowboys are suddenly so far ahead of their NFC East counterparts it’s almost unbelievable. The Birds have problems on both sides of the ball while the Cowboys are sailing smoothly along. Take the Boys to blow out the Birds.
