The Philadelphia Eagles (5-7 SU, 6-6 ATS) are desperately trying to keep their flickering playoff hopes alive as they play host to long-time rivals, the New York Giants (6-4 SU, 7-5 ATS) in an NFL matchup set to kick off at 1 PM EST at Lincoln Financial Field (grass) in Philly. The Eagles will likely welcome back Donovan McNabb to the lineup. And for some Philly fans, it's not a moment too soon, after AJ Feeley imploded against Seattle, tossing four interceptions. But McNabb has been sacked 30 times on the season, which is not good news when you consider that the Giants, with 44 sacks, have the foremost pass rush in the NFL, even without the services of Mathis Kiwanuka, who is out for the year.

With 87 points in its last five games, the offensive output for the Giants has taken a dip. Eli Manning has thrown six INT's in the last two weeks (now 17 on the year), the running backs are banged up (Derrick Ward out for the year, Brandon Jacobs just returning from injury), and Plaxico Burress is also trying to play his way through a bunch of hurts. And the Philadelphia offense is heavily dependent upon Brian Westbrook (leads NFL with 1598 yards from scrimmage), because no one else can really be counted on.

While the Giants have gone through their share of difficulties, the comeback against Chicago last week was a big boost for this team which seems to do its best work on the road. And now there is a chance to put a stranglehold on a playoff spot, which benefits us because we can get points at the same time.
