NFL Betting – New York Moves On To Dallas

In New York’s road win over the favored Tampa Bay Buccaneers last weekend, their run defense held Earnest Graham to just 63 yards on 18 carries. They will have to be just as stingy against Marion Barber, Julius Jones and the Cowboys offensive line on Sunday if they are going to have a chance to win this NFL Division playoff game. Win or not, however, if you bet on football, all you care about is if they can cover the 7.5-point football betting spread that the BetUS sportsbook has offered you as a line. There is a reason Wade Philips is 0-3 in the playoffs as a head coach: he is awful – more of a cheerleader than a head coach. However, he does have Jason Garrett at his side, so that glaring mismatch should be more than compensated for.

New York Giants +7.5 at Dallas Cowboys –7.5

Just like in their first two meetings – both of which were losses for the G-men – New York will need to win the time of possession battle in this game if they are to have offensive success. Last week was good practice, as the Giants sustained multiple drives in eating up the clock on the Bucs. Running backs Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw have the luxury of running behind a big, tough offensive line that does not hesitate to run even on eight man fronts. They are a confident bunch, and with good reason. Fullback Madison Hedgecock is huge, strong and plays smart; he can take out just about any lineman in the league when he needs to.

Eli manning, of course, has to listen every, single week about how he has or has not yet “come into his own.” If you bet on the NFL and are going to drop a dime on this game, here’s something you probably already know, but for those who don’t: Eli Manning is already in his own. He is streaky and prone to mental errors and he does not get excited when things go well or downtrodden when things go bad. He is the epitome of stoic and you should expect nothing less in the future. And he is playing better ball than ever. His learning curve will never be equal to that of his brother, but he is an able QB and his success depends, like most quarterbacks - including Peyton’s - on his surrounding cast. If you think the Giants receivers are going to have a better day than the Cowboys secondary, then you think they will cover this spread. And that is all you need to know.
