NBA Basketball Betting – Phoenix at L.A. Clippers

WHO: Phoenix Suns (26-11 SU, 15-21-1 ATS) at Los Angeles Clippers (10-23 SU, 15-18 ATS)

WHERE: Staples Center in Los Angeles

WHEN: Tuesday, January 15

BetUS NBA betting odds: PHOENIX -9.5, Total: 208

In the HEAD-to-HEAD NBA basketball betting trends:

* PHX has won four of the last five meetings SU

* The last five meetings have gone UNDER the total

* PHX has covered 10 of the last 15 meetings as the road team

* PHX has won 18 of the last 25 meetings as the road team

* PHX has had the shooting edge in each of the last five meetings

Phoenix leads the NBA in shooting (49%). The Suns are also the league's highest scoring team (110.3 ppg). Phoenix averages 27.3 assists per game, with 12.7 turnovers. Also:

* PHX has ocvered one of its last six games

* PHX has won seven of its last nine games SU

* PHX has played four of its last five games OVER the total

The Clippers are scoring 92.6 points a game, which is last in the NBA. That makes sense, considering that they shoot just 42.4%, which is 29th in the circuit. Also:

* LA have covered four of their last six games

* LA have won one of their last 11 games SU

* LA has played five of its last seven games UNDER the total

* LA has won one of it slast 12 home games SU

* LA has covered five of its last 16 home games

These two tangled in a home-and-home a couple of weeks ago, and at the Staples Center the Suns cruised to a 108-88 win in which they hardly even broke a sweat. Amare Stoudamire was too much for Chris Kaman and the Clippers front line to deal with, as 30 points and 15 rebounds. Phoenix has not covered numbers lately (just 1-5 ATS in last six), and Tim Thomas (21 points) led a spirited L.A. effort in defeat to Dallas last time out (Clips beaten at the buzzer). But by and large, the Clips have been a very "movable object" on their home floor, winning just one of the last 12 and covering only three of those. And this dynamic certainly lends itself to the extension of leads; in the last four games, Phoenix has bagged 55 three-pointers; the Clippers only ten.

There is too much ammunition on the part of Stoudamire, Steve Nash & Co. We're going to lay the points with the Phoenix Suns, the 9.5-point favorite in the BetUS NBA basketball betting odds.
