NBA Basketball Betting – Utah at Sacramento
By Charles Jay
WHO: Utah Jazz (32-18 SU, 27-23 ATS) at Sacramento Kings (22-25 SU, 25-21 ATS)
WHERE: ARCO Arena in Sacramento, CA
WHEN: Friday, February 8 at 10 PM ET
BetUS NBA basketball betting odds: UTAH -2. Total 213
In the HEAD-to-HEAD NBA betting trends:
* SAC has won 17 of the last 24 meetings SU
* Five of the last six meetings have gone OVER the total
* SAC has won and covered five of the last six meetings as the home team
* Six of the last seven meetings in Sacramento have gone OVER the total
* UTAH has had the rebounding edge in five of the last seven meetings
Utah is second in the NBA in shooting, at 49.1%. And the Jazz, with unheralded Deron Williams at the controls, have 26.2 assist per contest, which is 7.4 more than their opponents tonight. Also:
* UTAH has won its last ten games SU
* UTAH has covered nine of its last ten games
* UTAH has played six of its last seven games UNDER the total
* UTAH has won and covered its last five road games
Sacramento shoots 45.6% from the field and scores 103.2 points a game at home. The latter figure ranks as eighth best in the NBA. Also:
* SAC has covered two of its last seven games
* SAC has covered four of its last six home games
* SAC has won four of its last five games SU
* SAC has won five of its last six home games SU
* SAC has played eight of its last ten home games OVER the total
NBA observers are raving about what Kyle Korver has done for the Jazz. Korver, always a reliable scorer who has been known for going off on scoring binges, gives the Utah attack the ability to stretch a defense out. Korver has shot 39% from three-point range since joining the Jazz, but that figure is 54% over the last four games. Utah has won 10 straight games in no small measure due to his efforts, and interestingly enough, Korver has been a winner in 19 of his last 21 games, going back to his tenure in Philadelphia.
Utah is scoring more as a result - in fact, nearly 113 points a game over its last three, all of them wins. And they have even shot below their season average in two of those games. Sacramento is averaging over 103 points a game at home, and they are skewing toward the "over" in the ARCO Arena. That stands to reason, as the team has gotten back close to full strength (Brad Miller is day-to-day with a finger injury).
Certainly it's hard to buck Utah, which has won ten in a row and covered nine of those games. And we won't buck them. But we're looking in a different direction. These are two fine-tuned offenses who can make their possessions count and who don't mind running up and down the floor for 48 minutes. We're going to move "over" the total in this one. That's OVER the 213 points, as it is posted in the BetUS NBA basketball betting odds.
JAY'S PLAY: OVER 213
