NBA Betting Action – Top 10 ATS Teams Battle as Raptors Host Kings

by Eric Williams

The Sacramento Kings, (15-21 SU, 20-16 ATS, 19-15-2 O/U) are 3-1 in their last four contests, including Monday night’s surprising 122-120 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.

The Toronto Raptors, (20-17 SU, 20-16-1 ATS, 18-19 O/U) are also 3-1 in their last four games, but come into tonight’s matchup having lost their last game, 103-89 to the Detroit Pistons Tuesday night.

The Kings are 2-2 ATS in their last four games and will get a huge boost tonight from the 2007-08 debut of starting point guard Mike Bibby who has been out with a torn ligament in his thumb.

The Raptors are even better against the spread in their last four games, going 3-1 ATS, but failing to cover the spread against the Pistons.

The Kings have been one of the league’s best ATS teams, in large part, because of the eye-opening growth of shooting guard Kevin Martin, (25.3 ppg) while the Raptors have been led by their all-star power forward, Chris Bosh, (21.5 ppg, 9.3 rpg) though they have seen point guard Jose Calderon, (11.7 ppg), go off on opponents in the last week to ten days.

Here is a look at tonight’s Key Trends, followed by my analysis and NBA Betting Free Picks:

Key Kings Trends

The Kings are 4-0 ATS in their last four games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record.

The Kings are 5-0 ATS in their last five road games.

The Kings are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games vs. a team with a winning home record.

Key Raptors Trends

The Raptors are 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games vs. a team with a losing road record.

The Raptors are 5-1 ATS in their last six home games vs. a team with a road winning percentage of less than .400.

The Raptors are 20-8 ATS in their last 28 Wednesday games.

Key Totals Trends

The Under is 5-0-1 in Kings last six road games vs. a team with a winning home record.

The Over is 4-0 in Kings last four overall.

The Under is 6-2 in Raptors last eight home games vs. a team with a losing road record.

The Under is 5-2 in Raptors last seven home games vs. a team with a road winning percentage of less than .400.

Key Head-to-Head Trends

The Home team is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings.

The Favorite is 9-4 ATS in the last 13 meetings.

The Kings are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings in Toronto.

Analysis: Maybe it’s me, but I’m thinking the Kings have got to be happy about the return of Bibby and will play the Raptors to a near-standstill all night long in what looks like one of those ‘last possession’ types of games. Take the Kings to cover – or win outright.
