NBA Wagering - Toronto (+ 10) vs. Boston (- 10)

The Raptors have gone 6 and 4 against the spread in their last 10 games. The Celtics have gone 5 and 5 against the spread in their last 10 games. One thing to remember though is that out of those 10 games the Celtics have covered their last 3 games.

Here are some other trends:

The Boston Celtics are 14 and 3 against the spread in their last 17 games as home favorite of 5 to 10.5 points.

The Boston Celtics are 9 and 2 against the spread in their last 11 games after playing on only 2 days of rest.

The Toronto Raptors are 0 and 5 against the spread versus a the Boston Celtics in the last five meeting between these two teams.

The line is awfully high, but I can’t go against the trends in this one. The Celtics still only have six straight-up losses this year and are five games better than the other best record in the NBA.

That makes them a very tough team to deal with. They fell off the cover wagon for a moment there, losing to the Charlotte Bobcats and the Washington Wizards twice in the past two weeks. No problem. They’ve won three in a row straight-up and three in a row against the spread. The number that they have covered has been – 8, - 10.5 and – 8.

I don’t see how a Raptors team that couldn’t win straight-up, much less cover versus the Philadelphia 76’ers is going to provide much of a deterrent to the Celtics run towards the playoffs.

The Celtics are back to their winning ways. The Raptors are back to their losing ways. Is there any reason to believe that the Raptors will keep this game close? I don’t think so.
