NBA Wagering Action - Los Angeles (+ 5.5) vs. Golden State (- 5.5)

The Lakers got another fantastic game out of Kobe Bryant last night and ended pushing versus a Tim Duncan and Tony Parker less San Antonio Spurs team. I was wondering when something might creep up to damage the pristine image of the San Antonio Spurs. Tony Parker might be cheating on Eva Longoria? What is he - - insane? I mean, it’s Eva Longoria!!

Okay, I just had to throw that out there. Anyhow, the Lakers travel up the coast to Golden State to take on Nickname-Nickname. The Lakeshow is getting points in this one. That’s actually a good thing, I think. Here are a couple of trends:

The Golden State Warriors are 7 and 2 in their last 9 versus a team from the NBA Pacific.

The Los Angeles Lakers are 5 and 4 against the spread on the road so far this year.

The main stat to think about here is that the Los Angeles Lakers have won five games in a row. Coach Phil Jackson really has his fellas playing well. If they were going to play a “down” game, then it would probably have been yesterday when they had to go up against the Spurs. Travelling up the coast and taking on a Warriors squad that likes to play the same style they play makes the Lakers very, very tough in this game.

The Lakers have scored over 110 points in three of their last four games. That makes them a tough opponent for the Warriors who push the ball up the court no matter what the advantage is.

For the Warriors, dealing with a Lakers team that is skying high right now can’t be a good thing. The Warriors dropped one versus the Trailblazers in their last game and, even though the Lakers are coming off of a game while the Warriors are coming off of a 2 day rest, that loss to the Trailblazers is not a good sign.

The Warriors haven’t scored over 100 points in their last two games. They will need between 110 to 115 in this one to stay competitive. With such a high margin of error regarding the Warriors, the only choice is to take the Lakers and the points.

The BetUS NBA betting line is Los Angeles Lakers + 5.5 against the spread on the road versus the Golden State Warriors.

I like the Lakers to win this one outright. In any case, 5.5 points are way too many to give to a Lakers team looking for their fifth win in a row.
