NBA Betting Action - Boston Celtics vs. Detroit Pistons

Trends galore in this one as the Boston Celtics travel to Detroit to take on a Pistons team that has the best chance of upsetting the Green Men run towards the NBA Finals. The Pistons are still one of the better teams in the NBA and appear to know how to play the Celtics.
Here are some of those trends I mentioned:
The Boston Celtics are 6 and 1 against the spread in their last 7 versus a team from the Eastern Conference.
The Detroit Pistons are 5 and 0 against the spread in their last 5 versus a team with a winning record at home.
The Detroit Pistons are 14-3-1 against the spread in their last 18 games playing on 0 days of rest.
The Detroit Pistons are 7 and 0 against the spread in their last 7 home games.
I love the Celtics but the Pistons are just too good at home for me to recommend a Celtics win in this one. Make no mistake, as good as the Celtics are the Pistons will have to give up points in this game, but I do not think it will matter.
The Pistons thrive on these games versus top competition. Detroit plays up to their competition and are still smarting from their early exit in last years’ playoffs. Because of all of the talk surrounding the Celtics this year, the Pistons have to feel somewhat slighted.
They also match-up very well with the Celtics while the Celtics are going to have trouble matching against Pistons’ point-guard Chauncey Billups. Expect a few lessons from Billups in this game.
What this comes down to is thinking about whether or not a home team with a lot of ability can take down the best team in the NBA. I think the Pistons can and will.
