Horse Betting Action - Padding Your Bankroll

National horse racing handicapper Michael Dempsey will attempt to pad his bankroll and yours with his daily column. He will feature at least one Pick 3 or Pick 4 play from a major track along with coverage of major stakes races, longshots, and will keep you up to date on what is happening on the circuits he covers. Mother Nature ruined our day on Thursday. Snow and freezing rain in the New York area wiped out racing at Aqueduct. There is nothing worse than spending four or five hours handicapping a card and having racing canceled.

There are just three days left before racing in New York goes on holiday for a week. We'll invest $24 in our late Pick 3 ticket and today's featured race of the day has some “appeal” to it:

Analysis: #4 Alotofappeal dueled for the early lead and and could not match strides late with the winner in a game runner up finish against Alw-2 optional claimers last out at Monmouth in her first route try. Three have come out of that race to win next out including the winner Sherunsforbilly, who came back to beat Alw-4 optional claimers on 11/10. A couple of good works on the morning tab since her last outing and Pletcher is off to a good start at the meeting.

#3 Adorable Jane is a perfect 4 for 4 since Dutrow took over the training duties from Servis. Last out went gate to wire to defeat Alw-3 optional claimers by 5 1/2 lengths. She has only missed landing in the exacta twice in her career, the first time in her debut and the other on grass. She looks real tough in this spot but not expecting to see much of a price.

#3 What's Your Point was a game winner last out against $45K claimers in her first go for DiPrima barn off the claim. This gal has been popular at the claim box, taken four times in a row. Hard to miss her career mark on the inner surface (16-5-6-0). Bounced around between a few high profile barns but this barn is underrated and gets an upgrade in jocks here to Ramon. Looks capable of winning right back here as she is back with NY breds here.

#2 Cammy's Choice bobbled at the start, was bumped coming around the far turn and flattened out in the stretch in third place finish in a

$75K restricted stake. The winner of the race was Tamberino, who came back to beat NY bred Alw-2 optional claimers in her next outing on 12/7.

#3 Fort McCoy made a good late rally to finish in the runner up spot in his debut, beaten 1 1/2 lengths for the top spot. The winner of the race was Peperoni, who returned to finish sixth against Alw-1 state breds in his next start. $140K purchase is out of the stakes winner Lucky Livi, her first foal to race. Three quick works on the morning tab since his debut and in good hands with Rice barn.

#2 Hot Wheels Joe tracked the early pace and finished evenly last out
