NBA Betting - Knicks (+ 9.5) vs. Lakers (- 9.5)

The Lakers have dropped three games in a row straight-up. They’ve gone 3-6-1 against the spread in their last 10 games. Luckily for them the Knicks are one of the worst teams in the NBA. Maybe, this is a chance for the Lakshow to bounce back and get a much needed win. Or it could be a chance for the Knicks to show that they have some heart - - not a lot - - but some.
Here are some trends:
The New York Knicks are 4 and 1 against the spread in their last 5 games as a ROAD UNDERDOG.
The New York Knicks are 4 and 1 against the spread in their last 5 meetings in Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles Lakers 5-1-1 against the spread in their last 7 games following a straight-up loss.
The ROAD team is 7 and 3 against the spread in the last 10 meetings between these two teams.
The trends favor the Knicks. Even though the trend involving the last 7 games following a straight-up loss looks to favor the Lakers, us BetUS bettors need to remember that the Lakers have lost three games in a row and actually pushed against the spread in one of those games. They were getting seven points to the Mavericks in that push.
That means to me that the Knicks are primed for a straight-up upset. They are definitely getting too many points in this game. Injuries to Andrew Bynum, Trevor Ariza, and Chris Mihm means that the Lakers will have trouble winning this game on in the inside. That means that Kobe Bryant and Derek Fisher will have to carry the Lakers again or that Lamar Odom will have to have a super game.
I don’t think any of those things will happen. The Lakers are treading water at this point in the season. There is a good chance that they could lose a few more games in a row.
I’ll be wagering on that tonight.
