NBA Basketball Betting Action – Golden State at Minnesota

by Charles Jay

The high-flying Golden State Warriors (14-11 SU, 11-12 ATS) will try to put their offense to work on Wednesday night when they visit the Target Center to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves (3-20 SU, 11-12 ATS) in an NBA game that tips off at 8 PM ET.

In the BetUS NBA basketball betting odds, the Warriors are listed as seven-point favorites, with the total posted at 208 points.

In the HEAD-to-HEAD NBA basketball betting trends:

* GS has covered four of the last five meetings

* MINN has covered four of the last six meetings as the home team

* MINN has won five of the last six meetings SU at home

* Four of the last five meetings have gone OVER the total

Golden State hits 9.5 three-point shots per game, tops in the NBA. they average 43.2 rebounds and 105.8 ppg on the road. Also:

* GS has won 14 of its last 19 games SU

* GS is 6-7 ATS on the road this season

* GS has played eight of its last 11 road games UNDER the total

Minnesota has lost five in a row and 10 of its last 11. During this period the Wolves have reached the 100-mark just twice. At the current pace, Minnesota will post between 10 and 11 wins this season. Also:

* MINN has covered five of its last seven games

* MINN has played six of its last seven games UNDER the total

* MINN has covered one of its last eight home games

* MINN has won two of its last 19 home games SU

* MINN has played five of its last seven home games UNDER the total

The Warriors, as many expected, have started to play much better with Stephen Jackson returning to the lineup. Baron Davis (23 ppg, 8.5 apg) is going great guns as the point guard, but in many ways, Jackson is the guy who makes this team go. He not only gives them scoring (over 21 ppg) but a defensive stopper as well. Golden State is the 2nd highest scoring team in the NBA, and even though they have allowed 106 ppg on the road, the Warriors are often successful in luring the opponent into playing their game. For Minnesota, that would be death.

The T-Wolves have had a struggle to score points all season; they average just 93 points per game and have not really found a consistently reliable threat beyond Al Jefferson. And home has not been friendly to this club - at the Target Center, the Wolves have covered just three out of 11 games, and only two of nine as a dog. Last season Minnesota won a 121-93 laugher, but of course, that was with Kevin Garnett in the fold.

It is going to be hard for the Timberwolves to trade points, and there is not enough in the way of a defensive presence to pull off those needed stops. We will lay the points on the road with Golden State, the 7-point favorite in the BetUS NBA betting odds.
