NBA Betting Action – Celtics Look To Get Back On Track vs. Heat

After taking the league by storm in its first 32 games, the Boston Celtics, (34-8 SU, 25-16-1 ATS, 18-23-1 O/U) have come back to earth in a big way, going, just 5-5 in their last 10 contests, including a 96-93 loss to the Orlando Magic on Sunday, (though the Celtics can take solace in the fact that Kevin Garnett didn’t suit up because of an abdominal strain).

The Miami Heat, (9-34 SU, 16-27 ATS, 22-20-1 O/U) are just two years removed from winning an NBA championship and still have Dwyane Wade and Shaquille O’Neal, but are arguably, the worst team in the league this season.

Miami is just 1-15 in its last 10 games, but ended their 15-game losing streak by beating the Indiana Pacers 98-96 on Saturday.

The Celtics are still the owners of the league’s best record but have gone an inexplicable 6-5 against teams from the Southeast division including back-to-back losses to the Washington Wizards from Jan. 12-14.

The Heat are looking to win back-to-back games for just the second time all season.

Here’s a look at tonight’s key trends followed by my NBA Betting Free Picks:

Key Celtics Trends

The Celtics are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven road games vs. a team with a home winning percentage of less than .400.

The Celtics are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 road games vs. a team with a losing home record.

The Celtics are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games following a S.U. loss.

Key Heat Trends

The Heat are 3-7 ATS in their last ten games following a ATS win.

The Heat are 15-37-2 ATS in their last 54 vs. Eastern Conference.

Key Totals Trends

The Under is 4-0 in Celtics last four vs. NBA Southeast.

The Under is 5-1 in Celtics last six games following a ATS loss.

The Under is 4-0 in Heat last four games following a ATS win.

The Under is 8-1-1 in Heat last ten vs. a team with a winning S.U. record.

Key Head-to-Head Trends

The Under is 5-0-1 in the last six meetings.

The Celtics are 7-2 ATS in the last nine meetings in Miami.

The Over is 5-2 in the last seven meetings in Miami.

Analysis: Maybe it’s me, but something tells me the Miami Heat are going to bring their respective ‘A’ games tonight against the Celtics. While it might not be enough for them to pick up the outright victory, I think the Heat will somehow cover the spread tonight, particularly if Garnett doesn’t suit up.
